Why does Alex get sent to the Otherworld like this?

Post by repoelfie »

So, I'm watching this guy let's play Silent Hill: Homecoming and when Alex picks up a watch, he gets sent to the Otherworld. Okay.

But then he loses the watch and Alex picks up a doll and gets sent to the Otherworld.

Uhm, why is this? I'm not saying it's stupid or anything but I was a little confused. Does it say later on in the game? Is it because those were items related to Josh, even a little?

Sorry if I sound like a noob but I don't know much about Homecoming or Origins.

Lol bless you. Im not too sure about your questions, maybe the items were so important and were very emotional items that held alot of memory's, that the otherworld change occurs. I dont think the otherworld or the monsters are unique just to Alex, other people are effected by them. Maybe Alexis getting drawn into other peoples version of the otherworld.

I think the children/Josh lead Alex to these items, and then to their parents, because these items will stir strong emotions in the parents--particularly of regret. These emotions are what help to manifest the boss monsters.

Don't take my word for it, though.

The objects have powerful emotional meanings to the parents of the children, and due to the communal nature of Homecoming's Otherworld, the objects acted as keys into the nightmares of the parents.

As Aura said.
The items is not connected to Josh, but to other children, Josh's friend, the only items that connected to Joshua is the necklace and the flashlight.

It's most likely that order members/heads of the founding families were manifesting the Otherworld, not Alex, so Otherworld reacted to objects that were significant to them.
