I think that's the best boss battle of the game, and maybe the hardest, when you fight her for the first time.
The axe is pretty effective too.
Well it's pretty easy, but you still need to be good at dodging her attacksSenorKaffee wrote:It was one of the most intense boss fights in the Silent Hill series. I wasted most of my ammo on her, is it really so easy to get her with the crowbar?

Scarlet is the scariest boss, when you hit her with an axe you can see her legs 'n arms break it's gross, Poor thing she's in pain . Loved the music but it was so sad.

I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading, where rumors, true or false, are often revealing.~Col Hans Landa <3

she is defiantly my favorite boss i think ive ever faced. shes a great visual i just wish there were good screen shots or you could pause the movie and still see her i really want to draw her but have little success on my own
"But i don't want to go among mad people!"
OH you can't help that we're ALL mad here...

The battle with Scarlet was the best part of the game (including the level that leads to it). It's a bit challenging (on first try), bloody, fairly epic, and very creepy (love that BGM). It was pretty nasty using the crowbar to violently break pieces of her "shell" off. And the part when she knocks me to the floor and tries to bite my head off? *shivers* I couldn't hit the button prompt fast enough (haven't seen the death scene if you fail though *puts this on my next replay to-do list*).
I pushed my brother to play this game just for this boss fight alone. He said it was one of the best boss battles he'd ever fought. He also found it disturbing and disgusting. That made me happy.

I love Scarlet boss fight; its the only boss music i know which actually sounds sad.
a little bit more offtopic:
Is it possible that Scarlet as a boss resembles this Hans Bellmer "Poupee"?

(Hans Bellmers Mannequins were also the base of the Mannequins in Silent Hill 2)

Scarlet was one of the highlights of Homecoming. There's never been another boss in the entire series I've enjoyed fighting so much. The music helped make the fight, but everything was spot on; the design was chilling, the opening cutscene tied in with the surreal hellhole that was Hell's Descent, and even the scenery during the battle added to the mood tremendously.
"So what if the world hands me a pile of shit? I'll comb through it for the corn. I'll dodge enemy bullets by a hair's breadth. I'll slaughter Mimics with a single blow. If Rita Vrataski is a goddess on the battlefield, I'll watch and learn until I can match her kill for kill. I have all the time in the world. Nothing better to do. Who knows? Maybe something will change. Or maybe I'll find a way to take this fucking world and piss in its eye. Only time will tell."

I was able to take out Scarlet on my second try. The dodge button is definitely your friend, because assuming you time it right and move in the right directions, she'll never touch you. The second half of the fight was easy, 6 or 7 cuts to the face brought her right down.
You've got your good things, and I've got mine.
I actually found Scarlett to be rather easy. And while I have to admit she was well designed, I think Asphyxia was by far the single most impressive boss (in design alone) I've seen in the series to date.
I think all the bosses in Homecoming were refreshingly well designed though. And the fact there were actually a number of them (Damn you Walter Sullivan, couldn't you think up some better adverserial presences for Henry to what the hell over!?)
