Someone told I should take caution when it comes to konami
Hello Silent Hillers,
So I am with my friend and we were playing some Silent Hill homecoming. We left the junk yard and came to a surprise...
The game stopped at the now loading screen! We waited for around an hour and nothing happened! We had to force out of the game and the PS3 self restarted!
I am worried now that Travis knows of my feelings towards Alex and does not want me to finish the game.
Did this ever happen to anyone?

I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again. I don't know WHY it did it. I need to finish up the game so I can write a review on it.

Dammit, Travis, stop it, okay? Alex needs love too, you know.
...You know, you two actually have a lot in common. Maybe you should hug.
Yea, now rub his shoulder, that's right...
Smell his hair a little...

There are a lot of glitches with all versions of the games, but I haven't encountered any freezing apart from the PC version.

I remember the first time the game froze on me. I was in the hotel at the scene where Alex jumps over a hole to try and reach Josh. It froze and guess what: I hadn't saved once the entire game. I had to replay it from the beginning.
I saved at every save point I saw from that point on while playing Homecoming.

I have the PS3 version, and I've never experienced any freezes in this game, only some very minor glitches that didn't really effect gameplay. For example, in the other world Shepherd house I solved all four puzzles but only three of the symbols on the door were lit up. It still opened though.

I have the ps3 version as well and i was always puzzled as to why the game does this...i thought i forgot something, or that because i didn't see all of symbols lit, i was going to get a different/bad ending....turns out it's just a visual glitch that the dev's missed.
The only game that i have that has MAJOR freezing is "Fallout Game of the Year Edition"....lawdhammercy...why they never released a patch for that game is beyond me...it freezes so bad that it actually affects the quality of the game...as in if you don't save frequently, you could end up starting over at a checkpoint that was over an hour into your gaming....the QC on that particular game at least for the ps3 was horrible.

This happened to me several times at my friend's house playing the game. I assumed it was the X360, not the game, especially because the system broke down soon after and would hardly ever play anything.

So... since I never get to finish the game the first time I played, I thought I'll restart everything again with a fresh mind... unfortunately, I ran into a horrible glitch that is forcing me to restart the game...
I was in the sewage area this is extremely annoying. *sigh* just wanted to vent...

where I got the final zone was suppose to fight a Siam after killing three needlers... I was stupid enough to save after I killed ONE needler and apparently, if you do that, the Siam will not show and I'll be stuck in that area forever...

I've heard about that too. There's another glitch in the game like that that I haven't experienced, but I've heard about. In the church level, if you save when you have the plates in you're inventory, there's a risk that one of the plates will transform into a copy of another, and then you can't solve the alter puzzle.
This game has many glitches, but many of them don't effect game play. There are several weird glitches that haven't happened to me, but I've seen videos of on youtube:
floating handgun
invisible Alex (this is rather amusing during the drill scene)
stretchy, bendy hanging corpse in the hospital
schisms floating over the abyss
Has anyone experienced any of these during game play?

I've found it tends to freeze less frequently if you don't hoard alot of items weapons and junk at the megaton home. Used to freeze every hour. Now its about one freeze every three hours since i started selling stuff I don't use.clips wrote:The only game that i have that has MAJOR freezing is "Fallout Game of the Year Edition"....lawdhammercy...why they never released a patch for that game is beyond me...it freezes so bad that it actually affects the quality of the game...as in if you don't save frequently, you could end up starting over at a checkpoint that was over an hour into your gaming....the QC on that particular game at least for the ps3 was horrible.EmilietheStrange wrote:I have the PS3 version, and I've never experienced any freezes in this game, only some very minor glitches that didn't really effect gameplay. The Point Lookout are is still a glitch hotspot though.
On Homecoming I've yet to experience any malfunctions.
Re: Someone told I should take caution when it comes to kona
The game froze a lot when I played it. Curiously the one cutscene that froze the most ... is the one where Alex goes to Silent Hill : he doesn' t wake up in the smoke, he ends up in eternal oblivion ! ^^
I' not joking, I' ve seen that sequence loading screen freeze 3 or 4 times. No other bug to mention though ...
When I play SH5 I save my game before any cutscene-loaded part, just in case. Thank god they didn' t put any 10 stars ranking award in a game that freezes so often, I think I would have crushed my PS3 if the game froze on me right near the end of a speed run.
