So, because of the shitty angle I had, I've learned that the ceiling graffiti does not read "Shattering like a button . . ." as I had once thought.

The ______ looks like MATTER or MOTHER.

I agree with "I AM DECAYING LIKE A" but the word ROTTEN I could also it as BITTER/BITTEN. AR and THAT look right but the rest I'm clueless.

Ive been playing with this picture and it really doesnt get any more clear. The 2nd line first letter makes you think its an "A" but that curious thing above it still makes me wonder.

The last few words of the first line read 'DECAYING LIKE A BITTEN' to me. I don't know if that helps, but it's another perspective anyway.

Oh also, those words scrawled over Maria's poster are the exact same words found on the wall right behind James as he gazes into the bathroom mirror. Here's a piece of the wall texture, thanks to nur:

After 2 years, we finally get the answer. Nice find Burning Man. From the first time I saw this thread 2 years ago, I thought the answer will never be clear.

Can anyone suggest another term Carrion literally and/or figuratively?

Or have you found that too?

You know a game artist is dedicated when they spend their time making these sayings blend in to the game world and remain only half decipherable so that we spend hours attempting to decipher them. Silent Hill games always wow me with their depth and attention to detail.
