the otherworld was when he first entered the hotel thats the illusion cause thats not what it looked like right then. it burned before he went there.
i just thought the other worlds when the ground id fenced up, and the walls ooze shit.
matter of fact, even the hospital wasnt really the alternative world.. just a time shift in his minds eye. back to topic,
he came closer to realizing what the town was and the hotel at that point, everything came clear to him, he saw it the way you and me would see a burnt out biulding, abandoined
HARK, do you not hear the voices,
they are only audible if you listen first

>even the hospital wasnt really the alternative world.
False. The hospital and hotel are blatantly obvious about their transition to the [otherside]: after James fights the patients, and after he watches the tape. The [otherside] hotel is a reflection of what Lakeview Hotel actually looks like, but it's still not "reality."

I believe that as soon as James traverses the long corridor in the Historical Society he enters "The Abyss," and he remains within "The Abyss" until the end of the game. Therefore: What James sees as the Lakeview Hotel is what he saw three years ago--he says so himself--until he watches the tape: then it's the reflection of how it really appears, though still distorted (normal hotels don't lead one through a Scooby Doo-style chase between doors & hallways).

agreed. i think the teleporting doors and dead ends, etc. are a giveaway that it's not really objective reality in either case.

What dialogue confirms that it's Johnny who went malfunctioned and burnt down the whole place? Or are we deducting the fire incident from that lil observation?

Nah I didn't miss it. I was asking whether can we judge the whole fire incident from "I'm Johnny, one hot guy"?

Yes, I wondered that as well. Is it memntioned in Lost Memories or something? I can't recall.

I still find this so called Johnny "incident" hard to believe or silly to some level.

Did Team Silent put that in there as in a joking manner?

Ah. I just thought you were correcting me with myself. . . . The fact that I had to question that suggests I've been awake too long. Where's my bed?

>can we judge the whole fire incident from "I'm Johnny, one hot guy"?
We can. It's all theoretical, of course, but it's also the only thing suggestable: nothing else in Lakeview Hotel indicates the origin of the fire, yet there's this one miniscule detail that's only viewable if one goes out of their way to find--sort of like in Brookhaven Hospital when you take Maria down to the first floor via the elevator to see her "unusual behavior": you never have to take her there, but you can, and if you do, you "earn" something from it.

Team Silent wants its audience to make these connections, otherwise they wouldn't be included. Another example is the identity of Heather's photographer in Silent Hill 3 (with the note "Kill the Holy One?" on its back). The only other instance where a Polaroid camera is used is in Brookhaven Hospital by a patient. It's safe, then, to make that connection: that the photographer is that patient.

So. "One hot guy," a heater named Johnny in a hotel that caught fire. From Silent Hill 1 we know the history of the Gillespie home and its "antiquated boiler," so relating these seems safe enough, and, of course the fire/heater correlation.

No. When James leaves the elevator, stand there and don't move. Move your eyes to Maria - she's facing the wall, isn't she?

Could you please clarify what exact part your referring to?, are you saying to step out of the elevator right after that "Trick or Treat" questionaire thing, and then watch maria or what.

Explain please.

I don't remember because I don't play the games all the time. All I know is you take Maria down to the first floor via the elevator, when you can use it, and don't move James or Maria moves, too. Try it out for yourself.

i think she means that when you meet maria after the first time or when she lays down, you take a side trip to the first floor ( supposely where mary syaed at) she acts differetnnly, instead of looking at james like she does every other time
