She stands in the corner, between the wall & elevator, staring at it, as if there's something down there she doesn't want to see. It's all discussed in my "Mary Stayed At Brookhaven Hospital" thread.

Oddly enough I never thought about what caused the hotel to burn down. I think somewhere in the back of my mind I thought it had to something to do with the town's forces.
Sad suffering. I knew him when, fair weather friend of mine. Try not to think, I merely blink. Hope to wish away the lies.... I....

I actually just heard some rumors or something when reading a couple past threads that Ernest Baldwin supposedly started the Hotel fire by "attempting" a ritual of some sort or something along the lines of that I cant really remember it too clearly he doesn't have any ties with the fire does he?

I was reading something about that from-- I think it was by a girl named St.Aatos off the silent hill forum (co.uk). She has some very interesting threads there and I came across that particular theory in one of them.

Well she's crazy for thinking that. There's nothing to link Ernest Baldwin with Lakeview Hotel--especially not the fire.

This may be off topic, but anyone know exactly what he did with the white oil (white claudia) in that room after maria leaves?

Like the steps that you do in order to perform the ritual exactly.

yeah, i have to say the idea of ernest starting the fire sounds a bit ridiculous. at least with johnny, the hot guy, there are actual in-game connections.

it's not spelled out in detail in the game or lost memories, so nobody knows exactly.

>anyone know exactly what he did with the white oil
Ernest didn't do anything. He couldn't by then: he says it himself. Well, in a way, Ernest returned it to its rightful owner in Blue Creek Apartments, but he never "used" it.

I thought he just said he wasn't able to leave the house to obtain the oil, not that he was unable to use it. i'm not saying he did use it for sure, jsut that he seemed to want to, otherwise, why would he ask maria to go get it?

He never used it because he's dead. There was no way he could revive his own daughter from beyond the grave . . . from beyond the grave. The reason he couldn't leave the house is also because he's dead--he's bound to the mansion, so to speak, as the occult article in Silent Hill 3 suggests, for as long as his "job" there is incomplete: reviving Amy.

Thought I'd include this:
Silent Hill Chronicle, page 189 wrote:One member of the development team recommends "meeting Johnny" in Lakeview Hotel. (If you return to the employee lounge after retrieving the flashlight from the shelf by the service elevator, you can examine the heater in the corner of the room for the following text: "There's a heater here. On the back, in small letters, it says: 'I'm Johnny, one hot guy.'")

okay, but he was planning on using it, probably in his home, that is until he died.
