Which version of the game did you first play?

Post by HenryTownshend »

The first version I have ever played of Silent Hill 2 would be the ol' original X-barn version! I remember how hard it was for me to play the game because it was just too scary for me at the time. So what about you guys?

The first time I played this was the PS2 Greatest Hits version. I only play the PC version these days. I still have the PS2 version collecting dust.

Me too.
But the GH is the only version I played. And still do.

I love the polygonal light of the flashlight :P

The PC version. It lagged a lot, half of the sound effects were missing, and the music constantly looped. Installing the patch didn't solve anything. After the meeting Maria cutscene, the game started to crash regurlaly. I managed to get to the Historical Society and gave up. Kind of ruined my first experience with SH2.
Fortunately, I found a ps2 platinum copy in perfect condition a few months later.

I would have much preferred playing the PS2 version as I hate games for PC regardless. But the first time I played SH2 was on this very laptop not even a year ago.

I played the original when it first came out. Definitely one of the random buys ever. Thanks EGM for stating that game WILL scare you and not something pansy ass like 'probably'!

got the non greatest hits version for christmas like 4 months after its release(i got the ps2 for christmas also). i plugged it all up and put in the game straight away. after the opening cutscene, my *uncle* says,"This is the kind of game I take back to the store." I was like, STFU and go have another beer. His idea of a great game is Sonic for the sega saturn haha.
