Strange Pictures in the Prison Cell

I remember in the Toluca Prison there's a cell with strange hand drawn pictures. What signifigance do you think these drawings have?

Burning Man is a picture of Lakeview Hotel burning. As indicated in the Otherside version of the hotel, and Angela's last scene, people assume that in reality, it burnt down...

I don't know what the woman picture means...

Someone else can probably answer the Recital question better than I.

I kept thinking I would need to use the number from the recital picture in a riddle somewhere, but it didn't seem to ever come up again.

The Crimson One has something to say about the 436 People at a Recital.

Believers hearken to me! Twenty score men and seven thousand beasts.

One score = twenty
Twenty score = four-hundred

Maybe I'm REEEEALLY reaching here but I've always had a thought about the "Woman in flight" drawing. Maybe its flight of stairs as in Angela. I dunno, just got back from the gym, I'm tired just a thought I had. meh.

I think they're just red herrings, m'self. Although, I was once tempted to count all the people in the recital pic, just to see if there really are 436. Konami adds this content simply so that us devotees can discuss them on these wonderfully crafted boards.

I recently wrote a three part story (203 pages) about a horror town from a video game that becomes real. The story was about a fictional video game I'd invented, and I mentioned something along these lines, about red herring dead ends in games. They're in there to get you to try new things, like using the chrism and the chalice near the gravestones, in case something might happen. Red herrings give you more to think about. From a psychological point of view, I think they're meant to slightly deaden your senses/awareness of the principal ingredients of the game, so that when they jump out in front of you to bite your face off, they seem that bit more scary.

Please feel free to discuss this. If I'm slightly off-topic there then I apologise. But I really think that my theory helps to rationalise the presence of those pictures in the prison cell.

Woman in Flight is the prisoners account of the "witch," Jennifer Carroll. 436 People at a Recital is the prisoners account of the Ceremony of the Resurrection of the Deceased; the conjuring of Xuchilbara. Burning Person--the Japanese script doesn't specify whether it's male or female--is the prisoners precognition of Lakeview Hotels immolation.

For the record: Ulver09 didn't spot that.

Normally I'd shut this one down, Amphreded, but that one didn't go anywhere.

Yeah I realized that the thread has only 3 posts in it. But it contains the image of the pictures so I just posted the link in here incase someone wants to see it.
And I remember you telling us about the woman in flight being Jennifer Carroll in another thread - but I couldn't seem to find the link up for you guys.

Ok.. the woman in flight would probably mean something along the lines of... a witch which was mentioned in the first and third silent hill.. See Alessa in SH one was called a witch by her classmates.. So it stands to reason that the woman in flight would signify a witch in flight on a broom

Anyone think that these drawings were left behind for James to find? Like maybe...

I also agree with the "red herrings" reply, as in, I think they are just there to get your mind thinking and tht of course it has a connection but is no signifigance in solving riddles

That's NEAT.
Good job.
I'd never thought about that.

Today, when i was playing SH2, i stumbled upon something interesting in the Prison section of the game. After Eddie leaves James in the canteen area i happened to look at the blackboard canteen Menu and something interesting was written on it.
Apart from the food items (sausages and sauerkrauts etc) available in the menu, the date March 13 1956 was clearly written at the top of the chalkboard menu. I Wonder if the date has any significance?
(Bear in mind that you have to play SH2 at the highest settings to see it clearly!)

The chalkboard is taken from Alcatraz, as are numerous parts of Toluca Prison, like the big, yellow WARNING sign out on the docks.

Image

It's June 12, 1962, by the way.

Note. Alcatraz closed on March 21, 1963.

Also—I've been there. Weird place.

This chalkboard(it's got a food menu written on it) is to the right of the portrait with the dead body...and it has the date March 13 1956 on it.... i dont know how to take screenshots from the game so i cant show it here...

. . . what the hell is a "canteen area" and "canteen Menu"?
