Yes, you did say that...

So, I was merly refering to the one that got locked up. After you said it was a child, I asumed it was (it was a long time since I played, so I can't remember it all like a textbook answer).

Anyway, I vote for a connection between the sound and Jack Davis... I don't think we can go through the nature of the sound to decide what it is, because some say it sounds like a pig, and some say a child... I vote for Jack Davis (not him in person, but a layer of memory, like many other things in Silent Hill).

Not in reference to the patient being locked within the basement's basement. The sound behind the fenced-off room is of a child. Refer back to the apartments if you so desire.

What kid in the apartments?
And how are you sure that it's a child, or that child? Back it up please...

You wrote this...
the Adversary wrote:I was locked up inside the basements basement. It was so small and dark and I was so afraid. I dropped my precious ring. But I will never, ever go back there.

It's not any of the patients; it's an abandoned child, if you will. Something that is all over Silent Hill 2.
Together with that quote, the message is clear... the writings belongs to the child that got locked up in the basement.
Now, that is wrong, I know that, but if you say it like that, we clearly read that as the child being locked up... right?

Erroneously, yes. I put the quote for reference's sake. The child remark is about the noise.

There isn't a child in the Apartments. There is something else, however...

Erroneously
That is a big word and I have no clue what it means.Anyways,I figured that that writting was just by some crazy, not a kid,but the mentality of a child, but it being a full grown man.

You could also look up what it means. Or say the word out loud. What does it sound like? Error. Erroneously = Error/Mistake.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

I'm not really sure if it meant anything or not. Or if it was just one of those things like the bathrooms. I really don't know.

Sounded kinda like a child but then again not like a child if you know what I mean? Have no idea what it actually was or is meant to be, probably meant to be something just to scare you (made me run back upstairs before I had the key later and realised I had to open that door!!!) but some good linkage here between theories. My theory is that its like something that happened to the person that was locked up downstairs, but like an after-echo and a distorted one at that. Something along those lines however, but again no-one can really say for definite.

^That is a possibility, good thinking. But IMO, it's just something there to scare you.

that sound is scary....

You know what, lets just not say we heard it and not said we checked it out. I've learned too many times while playing SH not to let my curiosity get the best of me, yet I keep playing them....fuck you konami..
Haha, you peed your pants

-I pee lots of stuff

8 more days and I'm twenty three!...it's not that great actually....

Anyone opposed to me reviving this really old thread? k. :D

Because I don't think it is there just to scare you, just my opinion, but that sound and area in general is very hard to ignore....

If it's in the Quicklinks, we can hardly object. That's kind of the purpose of it.

Just about every sound effect in the game is meant to unnerve, unsettle, disturb, or just plain scare the crap out of the person playing it. Spend an evening playing SH2, and you're likely so spend the night with a baseball bat under your bed.

If it's the same noise that i'm thinking then probably it's a bat, well, to me, it looks like a bat "yelling".... or like almost everyone said, it's just to scare everyone who play the game... Just like the invisible monster in the prison.

I think the worst "unexpected noises" are (1) the unseen monster in the prison bathroom and (2) that crunch/screaming noise that you get when you place the tablets. But there are a lot of unpleasant sounds.
