Yes, I did. But just because somebody wrote something, does not make it true. The same goes for the Heavens-Night website. It was just some person writing what they thought. They wrote their opinions, I wrote mine. You choose what you want to believe.

P.S. How exactly do you pronounce Hjartu, anyhow?

Jartoo I think...

Anyway...
Yes, but isn't your theory also your own thought? What actual evidence does point it out to be a moth? Butterflies are known from the games ever since the first game (Alessa collected butterflies). So, the games themselfs isn't pointing them out to be moths. If you managed to see what kind it was from the blurry, black, shadowy figures that flies around you in that room and in the end battle, then ok, they are moths. But you can't see exactly if they are moths or black butterflies.
If black butterflies are believed to be death or represent death, then it could be true too...

Explain more about your theory... I'm not interested in opinions, I'm interested in theories that get explained in some way. From there I'm interested in discussing it until it makes sense and have at least a 90% believability. The rest 10% is if teamsilent themself confirm it.

I may seem to question many theories, but there are holes to fill and without doing that, some theories could become "truths" in the future, making a base for other theories. Thus, may create a false "truth"...

Holes need to be filled... if not, you can't say that he on that site is wrong.

Make it 90% believable...

Just so you know: It's impossible to explain theories without putting opinions into them--theories are all about personal ideas. Especially concerning little figures of insects on a screen.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

Yes, but some ideas have become "truths".
Take Adversary for example, he has studied the games for a long time and created some, very awsome theories that he explain perfectly. That is what I am after. But I have seen him joking about something sometimes and some people thinks he is serious: "Really, explain more, I don't understand..." etc.

A theory is based on evidences and drawn conclusions, thus making it hopefully 90% believable. An opinion is something that doesn't really have a base to stand on. Therefor, a theory must have some reference points that shows that "it could be true".

In some cases, some pleople question something to be true, while themself never can give evidence on why. Or rather, they can't give any own theory on what is true.

What makes most sense to me right now is Heavens Nights theory, because we know that many things in the games take inspiration from many cultures and the Native americans culture has a great influence. The black butterflies have a great explaination there.
But, moths is also said to carry spirits, so what makes MOST sense?
And why?

Point taken, and I stand corrected.

I don't know for sure if they're moths or butterflies--they fly and both insects do that--and both concepts can fit, in my opinion. That probably doesn't help at all but I guess it, like a lot of things, boils down to what an individual person thinks will fit or what makes sense..

Yeah I suck, I know. Hopefully someone smarter comes along.

No...

For the time being, I'll stick to the theory of black butterflies, until proven guilty...

To see a moth in your dream, indicates that unseen irritations and damage will not surface until it is too late. It is important to pay attention to minor details and not overlook things or others. Alternatively, the moth may symbolize your weaknesses and character flaws.

The first time he sees moths, they symbolize his subconscious, unknown guilt, telling him to look deeper for clues.
When they attack him at the end boss, it symbolizes the realization of his own guilt swarming and overwhelming him.
I don't think it completely disrupts the Heaven's Night theory, but if they are moths, what might one say the relation between the moth and the butterfly is?
That seems to be the only real hole here.

Unless someone comes up with this, I'm going to stick with black butterflies too.

By the way, it's pronounced Hyar- too. XD;

Considering the room's an homage to James Gumb, and his home, where he bred the deaths' head moth, seems the most logical conclusion to be moths. That and the butterfly's are specifically mentioned as being dead, on the bed, in room 202.

James Gumb, the corpse in front of the television of Room 208, left the key to room 202 on the bookshelf. Room 208 is also seen one other place: the Labyrinth. Maria's prison cell, from the inside, is room 208. Maria, representing the butterfly that Mary became--after her death; after her coccoon--is found dead, on the bed.

James not insane... think about if you went to a place and your fears and inner darkness manifested itself as physical things and creatures.

How do you think that will look? Would you still consider you as insane, just because the place itself makes it all happen?

The health drink should be in the kitchen, or maybe the bathroom, if I remember correctly. I'll take a look around tonight after work.

It's in a bathroom, but YOU CAN'T GET INSIDE. I never even got the health drink, but when I came back later, it was gone... and it played this really intense freaky ass music.

The music changes to be the same that's played in Room 208 after you return. Dunno what to tell you 'bout what's in there. Like I said: I'll check it tonight.
