Pretty much sounds good. especially that the laser is gone! and its of course great that Yamaoka is doing the music. :D
But there is only one thing bothering me, and thats the "visual indicator" part.
If there is a little glowing radar screen that tells you where all the monsters are, then it will definetly Not be as scary as the previous games. :( too bad

I really wanted the lazer to stay.

Rave.

If the price of the psp doesn't go down for the holidays it doesn't look like I'll be playing Origins. -sigh-

It has always sounded and looked good, and they already said months ago the laser sight was not going to be in it, that was just a prototype.

So Team Silent didn't do much to the story... That's just... not right.

Doesn't mean it will be a bad game though. Good thing they confirmed that the laser is gone, and that the barracade system is gone. I'm still curious, but it's already a buy for me.

Exactly
The game looks great, why are people only focusing on stupid things anyway?

All the hate boils down to the misconception that the PSP has no games, when in fact it has a ton of titles. 2 great GTAs, MGS: PO in a week, the new Killzone, Syphon Filter:DM (great game), Ghost N Gouls, Daxter, etc...

To me 0rigins is iceing on the cake. Worst comes to worst, it will be a fun game that adds to the mythos. Hopefully it will be awsome however and mabe we will get another Silent Hill on PSP. I think the idea of a good portable horror game is great, and can't wait to find some dark, god forsaken place to play it.

Story is a stupid thing?

I mean, since Yamaoka did a soundtrack for it (without even knowing what the theme would be, how the story would have been unfolded, that means the music will have little to do with the game) Team Silent could at least have given them a script of what they wanted the story to be and leave the gameplay parts up to Climax, but it seems they prioritize music over story. And at least to me story is more important, the music is great I love it but the story is very crucial.

Did Climax ever developed a game with an elaborated storyline? Because I think they only did some motorcycle games on the PSP.

And if origins was supposed to be a prequel it would be necessary to have Team Silent's script behind it or people wont take it as canon no matter what origins tries to tell us about the past of Silent Hill. SH1 has plenty of mythos to be connected properly, I believe that if there was supposted to exist a prequel to SH1 it would need to have been writen by Team silent and not someone else, I hope they at least understand what Silent Hill is about unlike the authors of the SH comics.

Did Team Silent DO ANYTHING before SH1? Geez, just let it come out before you cry foul.

It's "for sure"? I'm not going to say this game is great, but might be. Hell everyone was sure SH4 would be the greastest thing since sliced bread (lookin at you SH1fan  ), but then everybody(not everybody, but alot of people) bitches about till this day. So the negative thoughts on this game might be a saving grace for the series.

Hell SH5 is going to have to be great for me, because I'm starting to lose faith in them. SH3 wasn't great, SH4 was great on some levels, but failed on others, the movie was decent, but not amazing. SH is starting to lose what made it special. So if this turns out to be a pile, then SH5 will have to Pulp Fiction this series up. :)
