Is the voice acting decent in Silent Hill Origins?
I was just wondering if the voice acting is decent in silent Hill origins. Also I was wondering if any of the original voice actors from the first silent hill have returned for this game? I certainly hope the voice acting is better than the last couple of installments.

Well I certainly am glad to hear that the voice acting is good in this game. Because dont get me wrong I loved the first Sh game.. but I hated the voice acting in that game.. and 3 and 4's voice acting wasnt that great either. Silent Hill 2's voice acting was ok.. wasn't bad. But I certainly hope that the voice acting in this game is better than SH2's also. Well come this Friday I should have the game in my hands, so I will let everyone here know my opinion on the subject when I get it.

That about sums it up. It still has that "That line felt kind of stale, but that one came out OK" that Silent Hill tends to have. I give them credit for being more lively than Henry from SH4.BloodRedLion wrote:Silent Hill's never been known for outstanding voice acting. From what I've heard, it's good by the series' standards.

I did manage to hear a little more of the voice acting tonight. I went to YouTube, and watched one of the gameplay videos from just a couple days ago.. so it was legit footage.. and I noticed that the characters seemed more realistic in the voice acting. I loved the Spoiler ahead ( However I have to say.. Travis was voiced well, however he sounded like he had very little emotion.. was it just me.. or was that really the case?

I loved the trucker conversation in the openning scene, that was cool as hell to say the least.

Yeah I agree.. I watched one of the YouTube videos from the game.. and I have to say im very pleased with the voice acting. It definately is waaaaaay better in quality than Silent Hill 1's voice acting... And the CGI sequences are incredible.. I've never seen a CGI that realistic.. it looks like next Gen Type CGI.

I think it is very close to Next-gen CGI.
I think the voice acting is perfect. I have to say when i first heard Lisa i thought it was the oringinal VA it got me giddy untill she said a ew more words
I really need to capture the guys names who did the VA (Maybe we can contact them now for a talk, instead of making it like years later)

Exactly, I hate that shit. Yeah I'd say the script was is much better better and voice acting is way more convincing. Definitely on par with SH3, if not a little better, cause with Travis you really get a whole range of real emotions. He's the first person to really give someone a good telling off in the series. And the scene with him and Lisa in the theatre is also very well delivered.Kenny28 wrote:He's definitely the most confident out of the bunch, I thought. Calling out Alessa, and not going "Huh? What? What's going on here? What the hell?" every cut-scene.
Yeah fuck it, I'll be bold and say this game has the best voice acting so far.

I have to agree, the way travis was voice acted made him more in depth with his feelings, you can sense his frustrastion when he can't get an answer from alessa about what is going on and you can feel his concern and befuddled moment when he reacts to lisa in the theatre.
At first I wasn't quite sure about lisa's voice acting as it sounded like she was reading from a book. but either I got used to it or she got better as the game came along, It seemed natural to me.

True, and that was among the earlier wave of games that featured full on voice acting. So obviously a Japanese developer working on a an english script, for a new media isn't going to come out perfect first time.
In fact one thing that I think will benefit the series going to western developers is that it looses the 'anime cornyness' seen in previous titles. The script and acting in 0rigins was a big improvement, and if theres one thing positive to say about SH5, it's that the script and acting in that seems pretty decent too so far.
