Does origin answer a lot of the questions that we discuss in this forum, like do I get to discover new things about silent hill that I did not know?

Meh. Games that are cryptic, and are a series, should have answers for itself over time. Games in this series tend to be better left in question and allow the player to find the answers. They do lay them out, most of the time. I'll play it to see if some of the answers are what I , or others, have thought were the right way to think. It's not always good to have it spelled out for you.

Lots of discussion, but it doesn't really answer too, too much. it gives a little bit of backstory, though.

Unlike SH3, Origins clarifies SH1 without adding its own pile of bullshit.

What do you mean? 0rigins added a protagonist with a completely own story linked to the town.

Yes, but...
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
Travis' past has nothing to do with Alessa, the Order, etc. It's a tangent. It doesn't complicate the series further.

You’re free to disagree about what qualifies as a “pile of bullshit”, but there’s no need for namecalling.

So that means all both of you are on these forums, huh? (j/k) Cool.

Origins really doesn't change anything about SH1 though, in reality. And it is a far more compelling game to play, IMO. SH3 has too many glaring flaws.. not the least of which is the sound and music.
