What happens to Travis, after passing out?
I'm sure that this topic probably, or may not have been touched on before but. What exactly happened to Travis after he passes out with Alessa on the front lawn of Dahlia's yard? I mean you hear the sirens, then everything goes black, then Travis wakes up on a bench in Silent hill. I mean did someone put him there? Pick Travis up and manhandle him carrying him over to Silent hill and placing him on the bench?
I"m a bit confused myself, I know that someone took Alessa' to the hospital to hide her burnt body.. and it could be argued that Dahlia or even Kaufman may have put Travis on the bench, but why would they do that? I mean why not just take him back to his truck... put him in the drivers seat.. and let him wake up there to leave the town without asking questions. Perhapes make him dream the entire thing...
This has alway's bothered me, and made me think of how and why Travis goes from waking up in the front yard, to waking up in the middle of silent hill.
Anyone have any theories on this, if so please feel free to post them here

Please, don't deviate from the topic.
I think it could be a combination of Travis being "placed" into the foggy world via supernatural power of the town/Alessa and Dahlia and Kauffman's doing. In one of the game's note, Dahlia wrote to Kauffman:

It can be speculated that Dahlia (who was near the fire) and Kauffman (who could've come with the ambulance) took the unconscious Travis, somehow placed him on the bench so he could serve as a pawn in the "bigger picture."--------

Kauffman,
We are almost ready, but must
hurry! I sense our hold on her
power weakening. I worry that she
draws strength from the core I
hold. I will leave it behind, hidden
in this darkness. It will be safe.
Grady is unlikely to return here,
he is still running around town
chasing after ghosts. He is
ignorant of the bigger picture
anyway.
I will wait for you here. Finish your
business and join me soon!
The time approaches, the Flauros
is shattered, thrown to the wind,
and her will is still buried deep in
a sleeping mind. This time the
ritual WILL succeed!
Dahlia

Maybe I have my facts messed up, but didn't both Dahlia and Kauffman want Travis to leave town? I figured the mention of him being "ignorant of the bigger picture" meant that he wasn't a threat because he was too involved in his personal issues to realize what was really going on with Alessa. What good was Travis to Dahlia and Kauffman, I must have missed that part...
My thought
On the more obvious level, Travis was drawn into the town because Alessa wanted him to help her collecting the Flauros so she could gain the necessary power to counter Dahlia's scheme (as seen with her "split" in the good ending). If Dahlia and Kauffman caught on Alessa's intention, which I think they did, they would consider Travis a nuisance.
However, when Dahlia spotted on Travis during the fire, she could've seen through Travis' complexes and thought that he could be integrated into her own scheme. Think of it like Dahlia and Alessa were both using Travis for their own purposes.
Of course, there's no solid evidence for this and totally based on my ridiculous assumption that perhaps Dahlia intended Alessa to "split," as if the split was necessary in order to complete the ritual, as postulated by Dahlia and Kauffman's calm conversation at the end of the good ending.

The thing is, though, that Dahlia doesn't want the split to happen. It's only ever been a hindrance, and there's absolutely nothing to say that "Ye shall splitteth the Mother in half and put her backeth together" or something. Furthermore, Dahlia wasn't trying to use Travis, either. He's ALESSA'S pawn.

He sleepwalked around, like a zombie, until someone hit him with shovel. Then he stumbled back and passed out on the bench.

Hey that's why I said "ridiculous assumption."
Of course my general understanding is that Travis was solely Alessa's. However, Dahlia could've tried to use Travis for her own benefit, then after realizing Alessa's control of Travis exceeded her own, he was discarded and ignored because he was "chasing the ghosts anyway." Well Dahlia was wrong, as Travis managed to obtain the last piece for Alessa.
There's something unsettling about Dahlia and Kauffman's reaction to the "lost half" -- they don't seem to be too troubled by Alessa's split. . . as if they don't mind the "seed" to "lie dormant" because it could've heightened the success of a ritual, or whatever.

They seemed reasonably upset in the SH1 flashback, but they were content enough to just cast a beacon spell, knowing that God's birth was pretty much inevitable. There's something unsettling about Dahlia and Kauffman's reaction to the "lost half" -- they don't seem to be too troubled by Alessa's split. . . as if they don't mind the "seed" to "lie dormant" because it could've heightened the success of a ritual, or whatever.
