That would depend on how stable the members of the team are. If they are all fairly sane, I think they would just find a normal looking town.

That's likely the case. Silent Hill doesn't seem to manifest mass transfiguration. They were all 'personal' far as I can remember anyway unless they really have strong connection with the town.

About the only mass transfiguration in the series (and this is debatable) is in Homecoming, where pretty much all of Shepherd's Glen is subject to it.

I welcome a Silent Hill protagonist being a member of a black-ops team. They could make him start off with a bunch of bad-ass weaponry for the "tutorial", but then something happens to where he loses his equipment and has to fight with a pipe like everyone else.
