The carcasses are so huge that the streets would be overflowing with them if you killed more than one or two in the same area, so the bodies have to disappear. Having them evaporate in a cloud of gas is slightly more realistic than having them simply blink out of existence.
The giant creatures roaming the streets were one of the few things I really enjoyed about Origins, frankly (too bad the Calibans had been previously seen as a boss, though). It hadn't been done before and it added something to the table.
But yeah, what JuriDawn said sounds like the reasonable explanation.
I dont think there's any point.
The Carrions are manifestations of animals that Travis ran down while he was driving and/or saw on the streets (the carcasses) and how the smoke fits into this category? Smoke can symbolize fire, fire is a metaphor for Alessa. But what's the point in having wild animals plus Alessa? I don't think it means anything, seriously.
Just like how the calibans break up and dissinegrate, but the twobacks and the straightjackets corpses dont dissapear
That's true eh? Well, I guess Straight Jackets and Twobacks are too small to cause any major lag or vision problems, so I guess they left the corpses there.
ok honestly, origins was the weakest one i played.it didnt have much of a story, and the little story that it did have,it didnt explain it well. i just think that it could have been better...
