UK Release date in UK OPM

Post by Furin »

I was reading through this months OPM UK and saw an origins article. :p It just loosely explains little things about the story and in the top right is a big, red Feb 2007. :p

I know we knew it was going to be Quarter 1 but at least know, assuming this is official, we know its early '07 :p

Get back on topic.

I find it interesting that in North America we're still waiting on a final release date and this magazine is claiming to know the European date. I smell speculation masquerading as fact.

Yeah, I know what you mean. SH: 0 will be one of those "it's done when it's done" things hopefully. I believe short devolopment is what kept SH4 from being as awsome as the first two games. Hopefully they learned thier lesson.

Silent Hill 4 was in development since Silent Hill 2.

Well I just checked Konami.com and it says that the release date isn't untill Winter '07. i'm gonna go ahead and believe Konami on this one, I think they know a liitle more than OPM.

Really, and you know that by "devolopment" they don't mean "well it's something we were thinking up". Devolopment can mean a variety of things my friend. Even if, I do think SH4 needed another 6-12 months of polish.

Well, that's irrelevant: The fact remains: Silent Hill 4 was in development--it was being worked on, written, and produced--since Silent Hill 2's completion.

I know what you mean, but thier are factors you must consider in it's devopment, which I won't go into due to it's off topic-ness.

The last trailer said it would be Q1 07, so some time in early 07. Unless it gets delayed again.

I say good.. The sooner this game comes out, the sooner we will get new information about Silent Hill 5. And maybe, the sooner it will eventually be ported to a home console.

True. I am personally going to embrace Origins for what it is: a side adventure that is done by another team. Even if it is hit and miss, which I will not know until I've played it, introducing 'new blood' to the creative process can be a good thing. I just hope the monsters are cool, then the game will be fun for what it is.

Over here in the States, I can not find any info on the actual release date.
RIP Silent Hills
