Do you want the media references come back??

Ten years after the original game and Harry's still searching for his daughter.

Do you want the media references come back??

Post by KageReneko »

Well, that's it... One thing I really loved from SH1 was the lots of references to books, movies, music bands and all kind of things from the real world... Was really nice to use the First person View for find all these little details and homages everywhere...

Will SH SM be so rich like the original in this aspect? I'd like that

Sure, why not? It's always fun to find things in game environments. Plus they'll have more pixels. Would be kind of neat if they threw in some more references as well.

I only noticed a few references in SH1 because I wasent really paying attention to them, and I still aint. I just like its story and athmosphere, don't care about the references.

This makes the town experience a lot better in the original game, specially if you are a horrot fan... In fact I was kinda of dissapointed cause the other games hadn't so many references like the first one...

What would be really impressive is if certain references only showed up depending on how your psych profile turns out. But yes, more references are always nice because it gives us something to look for when making multiple playthroughs.

Yeah I think it would be great to have lots more references in this game, and possibly more references to the other games. Like being able to ring up that number from Silent Hill 4: The Rooms billboard from your PDA.

I would really love for some references to come back, or at least inspire this game a little. Not just from the movie.
I think something from poltergeist would be aewsome! :D

It'd be nice to have a lot of media references in this, but they'd have to be references from the 2000's since this is a more Modern Re-imagine.

I'm pretty neutral on it, but if they're gonna reference things that they always have such as Jacob's Ladder, then I'd like to see some cool new ones. They should also reference non-media things such as the toilet item grabbing joke.

However, If they're going to be referencing terrible media, then obviously I'm gonna have to say no thanks to references.

As long as they don't reference the Silent Hill movie that'd be fantastic. It would be even better if they made intelligent references (like in the first one) opposed to referencing shit like Saw and Hostel.

SH1 was absolutly rolling in references to a variety of things and I thought that was cool

I wouldn't mind seeing some references in SM so long as they didn't take me out of the game if you know what I mean

They can't ruin a game for you if it's truly your favorite. They'll never alter the original, and you're still free to play it and ignore any remakes.

I highly doubt there will be many references. The reason there were so many is because it was team silents first collaboration. Been die hard fans of the genre they through most of what they knew into a game, they didnt know would be successful. I don't think that level of content can be reacted, certainly not by climax.

With saying that I would love there to be more references.

What for? If Dark Knight would have some reference from Tim Burtons 1st Batman would that be cool or stupid? If game takes place in other universe then it cannot reffer to anything because the other things actually never happened, using logic ofc
