Even though we've suspected this for awhile due to retailers listing SH:SM as a November 3 release it's been officially referenced in a Nintendo press release today. Under upcoming new Nintendo titles Silent Hill is listed as a November release. Still no update on the official Konami site but they seem a little slow in terms of updating content.

EDIT 10/09/09:
Gamestop now lists the release as 12/08/09...no word from Konami as of yet.

I had theorized previously that it was delayed in order to not have to compete with the grudge game that was coming out on the exact same date, October 13th...I stick by that theory. Because I feel that they are dumb enough to think that anyone would confuse the two games, since they are both flashlight horror games on the wii. Also they knew that Uncharted 2 was releasing that day, and that I would be in terrible agony having to juggle silent hill and uncharted. Actually, scratch that. Silent Hill has always been the priority in my life. For better or for worse. But it's only about half a month of waiting. I'm a patient person.

Oh no, not a film-licensed video game! It'll annihilate our profits!
Though Uncharted might present a problem, I'm willing to bet that anyone who will buy Silent Hill and has a wii will do so regardless of what other games are out.
the only problem I can imagine is that a lot of people who are historically Silent Hill fans might not actually have a wii. Like me. But I do have a PS2 so that's okay I suppose.

When SH:H came out for 360, we had to wait .. what was it, about a month for the PC version? They kept putting it on there, and pushing the date up, so the dates were always wrong.
I think that I'd rather not have this game finished by Halloween, it feels more like a dead of winter type of game, one you'd WANT to have in December, or January.
Like everyone said, I don't care when it comes out, as long as it comes out

Only some of my posts are serious.
