Those lyrics won't play in "Hell Frozen Rain" b/c they're not in "Hell Frozen Rain". . . .
Sorry let me clarify. On my version of the track "Acceptance" those lyrics don't play. It goes right into "Hell Frozen Rain" just before those lyrics supposedly play.

Well, it's neither persons' song. It was written and performed originally by a separate group of people and both Elvis and Nelson had pretty well received versions. Elvis recorded his version of the song before Nelson did.
To be a bigger Nitpicker, It was actually recorded originally by Brenda Lee in 1972.

Lol, ok then, but still, I prefer the Elvis version that I'd heard than Akira's, he totally ruined that song. I'm not a big fan of covers, especially when they sound something like this song Akira did. My opinion is that, should you make a cover of a song, you should make it sound better, not worse.

Well I don't know that he made it sound worse, so much as he made it sound creepier, which I'm sure was the point. I prefer Yamaoka's cover. Still, to each his/her own opinion. :P

This. It's "when all the cards that you play divide". I definitely know it's "divide", because you can hear the backup vocals sing that part.

She says, "There is a moment in time when all the cards that you play divide."

I made a couple of changes in "Hell Frozen Rain," by the way, having familiarized myself w/ it more.

I don't hear an 'h' before "is."

I also prefer complete sentences, so my transcriptions will always be predisposed to using them instead.

Does the soundtrack not include liner notes/lyrics? b/c I thought the CDs generally always did.

The soundtrack came in a cheap cardboard sleeve. There was no insert with the lyrics.

I do.

And it's makes more sense as opposed to a mind writing on the wall. Unless...dun dun dun. There was a hole here, it's gone now.

Hmm, I'm sure there will be lyrics released eventually.

Except for all the projected thoughts manifested quite literally as writing on walls in the Silent Hill series. . . .

If you listen closely, the lyrics actually go,
"The cold, the light, the fear returning...
It's not the ice you fear that's chilling you."

That is what I distinctly hear and it makes sense for the game.

I honestly didn't listen to "Acceptance" much while transcribing it. Still don't. Don't care for it. I'll re-listen later.

CONFIRMED LYRICS FOR ACCEPTANCE :

Quote:
where we go—a home—from here—

Where we go, alone, from here?

Quote:
entirety of the second half lol

Something is telling you
Nothing can change where you are, again
Why should it matter, your dreams of a child
Innocence is gone, only fear to play with
Faces are changing but nothing is changing the pain, too late

Two steps I take getting closer and closer
And one more breath I take sends me further back

Over and over it calls to your soul...
Say it isn't so, emptiness surrounds you
No one can help if the angels refuse to come near, who's there?
Cold faded photos they lay by your side
Something in my room, never mind the reason
Visions are lying and reasons just live to survive, this time

The cold, the light, the fear returning
It's not the eyes you feel that's chilling you

Good guess! I'm kinda glad I didn't intensely listen to the lyrics before I played through.

What the hell did they do to "Always on my mind"?! What, Akira ran out of ideas, Christ... Definately didn't like that one :( Stick to your own songs man, like you used to. I love Akira's music for SH, but although I'm not a fan of Elvis, Akira totally ruined that song for me.

First of all, "Always on My Mind" is an American country music song by Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson Thompson originally recorded by Brenda Lee.* Sorry, but Elvis keeps getting the credit for this song and it wasn't even "his" to begin with.

Secondly, if you're not a fan of it, then how could Akira have possibly ruined it for you?

^Fail @ source. Wikipedia is NEVER a valid source when proving a point.

Uhm, I happened to know beforehand that Elvis wasn't the first person ever to record a version of that song. Jesus Christ. Besides, Wikipedia isn't wrong 100% of the time. *facepalms*

You need other sources though? *sighs*

Here you go. Loads of other people have covered it too. Willie Neslon, Michael Buble, and the Pet Shop Boys to name a few... my point was it's not "an Elvis song".

I like to nitpick, Cascade. Nothing personal against you. I'm not saying Wikipedia is inaccurate in this case or any case. It's simply a fact that anything that can be changed by anyone to reflect the point they are making is simply unreliable, and Wiki as a source is never accepted. :D Relax, have some fun. I know it wasn't Elvis' song. However his version was the earliest to enjoy any significant success.

Alright, sorry for the witchiness in my reply. >.> I just kept hearing it called that and I decided to nitpick about the original artist. It's cool, sorry for freaking out. :)

btw, the song aren't done by Akira Yamaoka at all. At least as far as the lyrics and a good part of the melody goes.

The Silent Hill songs are infact a three-way (er...) process. Akira Yamaoka creates the music and together with a description of the plot and the character's motivations sends them to Joe Romersa, who then creates the melodies and lyrics that fit the story, which at the end of the process are sung by Mc Glynn.

But yeah, I didn't like this song either at first. But I had that experience often when I listen to Silent Hill songs. Many of them don't grab me instantly but upon rehearing grow on me until I end up loving them -even this one ^^
