In the Middle of Playing It. Question?

Ten years after the original game and Harry's still searching for his daughter.

Thanks, this game is really different compared to all the other Silent Hill games.

To me its a whole new game with re-used character names

I believe reusing the character names and familiar setting and making it seem like a 'remake' is part of the illusion and a sleight of hand to throw you off. It works rather well!

Yup. It's supposed to be; it's supposed to be both a reboot for new players, and a mindfuck for old ones.

If you were looking for a remake of SH1, this isn't it. You'll still enjoy all the references and callbacks to the original though.

It was strange not to have her in this game at all. I think it'd been nice having Michelle name changed to Alessa, Alessa Valdez, sounds good.

Yeah Alessa is gone...and thank god! I was tired of her after Origins. Alessa's story has been wrapped up, hopefully we won't be seein' her again.

That's one aspect I majorly appreciated in Shattered Memories--the fact that it really was a re-imagining to a point where it left out one of the most important characters from the original.

I kept wondering in my first play through if she'd ever pop up, but she never did. Better to find out these things for yourself than asking on a forum, imo. It maintains the suspense and curiosity.

That'd be totally silly. For one, Michelle isn't that important of a character, secondly, it would muddle up the actual correlation between her and Cheryl, and third, she's not a parallel in roles to Alessa like every other character is to their namesake. Alessa's counterpart is at best the black shadows that run off.

Though I sort've agree with you, I'm kind've sad over this sort of reaction. Alessa was a greatly beloved character of mine.

Can we agree that the world needs moar Heather, atleast? :D

Never cared for Heather. Clearly it's Wheeler that needs his own game.

More Heather would certainly be okay with me. But a game with Wheeler... just badass
