Different Lisa?

Post by Celstice »

PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
Lisa hasn't changed from either playthough I've gone through. The scrubs are the same, as long along with the scrubs. I'm a little confused. Everyone else seems to have variations, whereas Lisa has none whatsoever. Even in dialouge and attitude. Anyone else experience a different Lisa?

I believe, since she doesn't live long anyway, that she doesn't have much to alter. I do believe if you visit the clothing store at the start of the game with the three different kind of jackets to find the key in, her clothes when she changes out of the scrubs might be what you chose.

This however I still don't know yet.

The first time I played through, she had crashed her car into the hospital. She didn't seem too upset about it, and blamed her lack of sleep for it.

The second time I played through, she crashed an ambulance into the hospital and was sobbing. She blamed the lack of staff at the time.

Also, the first time she asked for medication, she wanted a yellow pill. Second time, blue. Her personality and clothing don't change very drastically, apparently, but there are variations on her character.

Hmm. Interesting point. I had the Ambulance crash, but she was rather calm and cool about it.

In my first play through, she crashed in her car. Asked for a green pill. She was still alive whne i got to her and saw her die. In my second playthrough, she crashed in an ambulance, asked again for a green pill, but purposely gave her a blue pill. When I went back to see her, she was already dead, with blood all over her face

she was dead when i got called back there

I got Sobbing Lisa with a crashed ambulance blaming the crash on the lack of staff. "I wasn't even supposed to be here!"

She asked me for a red pill and threw a hissy fit because I watched her in the mirror while she was changing.

She was still alive when I got back to her apartment and then died very shortly after I got there.
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

I didn't even think about trying to look at the mirror, I watched the damn TV haha

I also gave her the Green pill, which she asked for. She died shortly after I walked in.

Oh, and sobbing and upset over the crash. Don't remember what she was wearing

does anyone think that those pills were actually White Claudia?

Er... the pills weren't white. And there's no reasoning to support that at all; White Claudia isn't mentioned in this game whatsoever, and Lisa works in a hospital that Kaufmann is not involved in.

So...the type of accident is alterable (I've only seen the ambulance version in my first two play throughs); possibly the outfit she changes into (went to the video store both times, she wears pink scrubs then a grey cardigan and jeans); and her death scene depending on which pills you give her (1st play through: I gave her yellow like she asked for and she died after I got back to the apartment, 2nd time: I gave her red pills instead of the blue ones that she asked for and she was already dead when I got to the apartment, there were red pills scattered all over the table, and when she called Harry to tell him to come back "What have you..." was added to her dialogue.)

My biggest confusion about Lisa is... how exactly DID she die? I wasn't aware that it was possible to bleed from the head with no wound or serious medical condition.

Technically speaking, she does have a head wound (you can see her bleeding from the right side of her head at the hospital, and she comes back wearing a bandage after she changes in her apartment), but it doesn't look that serious. I mean, not like it would cause massive hemorrhaging... If you give her the wrong pills it's insinuated that she dies because you gave her the wrong pills. But if you give her the right pills she goes all SH1 on you and starts bleeding from every facial orifice she's got. I just kind of looked at it as an homage to that scene from the original and didn't question it.

Well, yeah, but she starts bleeding from the opposite side of her head as the wound.

I got it was an homage to the original, but I'm still somewhat confused as to why she even died if you gave her the right pills. She seemed to be bleeding from her back too.

Just watched it again, and you're right, the bleeding does start from the opposite side of her head, and there was also a lot less blood than I remembered (a more subtle homage, I guess)... Someone, somewhere on this forum (I'll link it if I ever find it again) theorized that the various characters that you meet represent the different stages in Doctor K.'s therapy session (Lisa corresponded with Death, effectively making her whole purpose in the game to die). If she is supposed to be a symbol, then maybe it doesn't matter how or why it happens, just that it does. Medically speaking, I'm with you, there doesn't seem to be a logical cause of death when you give her the correct pills.

Yea, seems like she's just gonna die every time. Her clothes change, her cars change and her story will change, mix and match for a few different things.

I think it's to follow along the guilt. Dr. K talked about it to me at least, what keeps people up at night more than anything else is guilt. And Harry might have felt guilty about leaving or giving her the wrong pill or something or another.

The only logical reason I can think of that she dies even if you give her the right pill is that she had hurt her head so bad that she told you to give her the wrong pill by mistake because she couldn't think clearly.

She made the mistake of going to sleep with a head wound. That's a normal cause of death. the bleeding, though is slightly less normal...

I wonder if you like...saved prior to that and when she asked for a pill give her a different one of every color or something?

I'm sure she'll die no matter what...but it's worth a shot?
