^Or... Silent Hill is a white town. It happens. I have a lot of friends in the North Eastern corner of the US and there is a shit load of white people there. So, playing to the audience in a white majority town will lead a business person to want little white girls to be in their commercials.
Better yet, the descriptions describes Cheryl. Everything else in SH:SM is about Cheryl, why should this be any different.
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"
^ Haven't you heard? It's impossible to be racist against white people, because we apparently have a magical honkey fairly that grants us all of life's luxuries, just so long as we know the super secret straight white male handshake.

Don't forget the poster in Midwich High School about the chess club.
What did it say? I think something along the lines of White to play, 2 to mate or something.... when you obviously need black and white to play. Or maybe I'm looking into this one too deeply, lol >3>
I think that they were trying to show the inner racism that still exists in people. I don't think it was meant to offend anybody but just to show that there are racists out there.
I really don't buy the argument that they were just looking for a specific group of kids like someone above had mentioned. The creators knew exactly how people were going to see it. I mean it's pretty straight foward.
I think this is why we will not see a black or gay protagonist in Silent Hill. The content in nature is suppose to be disturbing, so if they were to tailor a game towards someone who is black or gay, the casual player, lawyers and the NAACP would see it as racism.
I still dont understand the whole concept of separating our race into colors, its stupid. Height or weight or personality are way more defining. In fact instead of having just a few races, I think every single person makes up his own race, since no two people are alike.
