Being a Silent Hill fan and renting a Silent Hill game with multiple endings and so many other variables - seems way to awkward and WRONG to me ;)
Those variables prety much makes every replay so fun - its both the chase for different ending and different paths/dialogues/situations/environments.
So, buy it! Buy, buy, buy!!!

100% this. Don't listen to AirborneSFSoldier one bit. It's also more of a 6-8 hour thing, not a 3-5 hour thing. Still short, but that just makes the replay value so much higher. I can suggest renting things like SH4 and Homecoming (even though I personally enjoy owning them), but Shattered Memories is one of the ones you definitely want to keep around. Replay value is insane and it's short length makes for a refreshing time killer that has yet to get old for me.

Yea, playing Shattered Memories only once is like playing Silent Hill 2 and stopping before you get to the plot twist. You're actively disservicing yourself.

"The things you can look up on the internet."

Thats not the point. Thats cheating, and what fun is that?

And I tried going back into the planetarium, but that door was locked.

Ehh the changes in the game aren't THAT huge after playing through multiple times.

I recommend you RENT shattered memories as you will complete it in about 3-5 hours honestly it's not worth wasting all that money on, and you can view the other endings online. You should thank me I've saved you a lot of money :)

It is worth buying-multiple endings, different experiences on each playthrough. Those make up for the 2 hour completion of the game.

If you want really different endings and experience each play through get heavy rain it does what shattered memories tries to do(as far as multiple playthroughs) but better IMO

Except they're two different kinds of games. Silent Hill is a psychological horror/adventure game, whereas from what I know of Heavy Rain, that is more of a visual novel-esque thing.

Yeah I know I meant as far as multiple endings and outcomes.

Yea, so? Any Visual Novel would do that better; that's not why Shattered Memories is worth the multiple playthroughs.

LOL? What? Looking up a Puzzle FAQ isn't cheating. It offers help, like how your good friend SimeonAlo would pick you up if you accidentally fall down the sidewalk. The first one you go to is the only one that you can go through, you can't go through the other door if you already head for the first choice-just like the Bar and the Diner.

And if it really bothers you to the point of, 'omg this game sucks', then you definitely do need to look it up. One problem shouldn't make you say that the whole game is terrible.

And if you call that cheating, what do you call looking at someone's math paper and copying off of it during a test? Murder, perhaps?

The fuck?

In my view, if you look up help to get through the game, then you didnt get through it for real. Not to mention, doing it yourself is such a much better feeling. solving puzzles that is ;)...

And I dont hate a game on just one thing. But even the chase sequences are frustrating because of the wii controls.

You point the flashlight and such in a direction you want to move, and then if you feel like twisting your wrist, like stretching, then your view gets all fucked up. A good old controller works much better for this, or just a mouse, where you can take your hand of it without fucking the view.

well I fancy myself somewhat of a Silent Hill collector, I own all the games in the main series from Silent Hill 1- 4 to Origins and Homecoming, so I may as well get this one

plus it is very re playable, which makes it worth the cash in my eyes, there's also the fact that I own only 3 Wii games despite having the console for over 3 years, so it wouldn't hurt to add another to the collection

Yeah, I originally borrowed my Mum's Nintendo to play the Wii version, and had a really hard and frustrating time with it. I recently got myself a PSP along with it's version of the game and I'm enjoying it far, far more now that I'm in full control of harry's actions in the chases...
