...Er, how long will that be from now? 'Cause the 'game for science' thing actually is a legitimate, university funded study, and it sort of have an end date for data collection. :|

Getting it done as I write this. : D

ETA: Done. That was pretty fun and it just so happened I picked the most stressful game in my library to play. I wonder how this will affect the findings. :P That was pretty cool. You be sure to keep us updated and if there is anymore gaming surveys like this, I'll be more than happy to participate.

Lain, isn't this going to be one heck of a project considering all these wonderful people who've signed up :)?

yes, I loved what Climax did with this game and would love to see it used in more horror or even other games. Look into Eternal Darkness. It has a psychological side of it too.

Not really- there's really only one thread in particular I'm looking at for data. If people don't post there, well, I can't count them, even if they DO give permision to read their posts. So. Plus, there's really only two ways to quantify the data I'm lookin' at- yes or no. It's nothing difficult.

Also: my only sugar for the weekend has been how very, very pro-my hypothesis that one particular thread had been thus far. :D

I was actually curious to know if this is still going on. I was away for about a month but I didn't think anyone mentioned the status of this while I was gone.

I'm still looking and keeping track of relevant threads, and check into new threads as they're made- people are quite innovative and curious. I'm very pleased with how it's looking so far. :)

I am like stuck in foreplay. I can't wait until you finish your project and are willing (maybe???) to share at least some of what you found in terms of all this psychological schtuff. It really intrigues me, even if I am usually not into psychobabble. I tip my hat to you, ma'am.

Oh, why thank you! Yes, I've seen those, and sent them off to my old professor (thank god for those 8 years of French!). Cool, cool goings-on in the world of video games these days!

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.

Was that enough 'yeses?'

Just in case:
Yes.

I was talking about psychologically therapeutic video games in a forum that I refuse to admit being a member in, and it came up that Silent Hill-esque would be the perfect type of starting point for it. (Because of the individual experience, personal revelation and what not.) The technology is light years away, but it got me thinking. And made me happy.

How did I never see this thread before?

Oh, and also, another
Yes.
