To me, shaking off the raw shocks was terrifying and tense, not annoying at all.
It kept me on edge.
I thoroughly enjoyed it ;)

The game controls perfectly on PS2 or PSP so it really doesn't matter what version you get.

The trick to the waggle sections is to use very small, quick motions. People wave their arms as if they're playing Wii Sports... The controller is much more receptive to quick flicks.

Which is how this happens:

Seriously, this is why I don't own a Wii. I would have to be replacing the remotes one after another. It's crazy.

They do give you a nifty little arm-strap to keep that from happening... And a rubber condom to wrap around the controller. AND they have a warning about remote safety before each and every Wii game. Nintendo really covered their asses... But still this sort of thing happens. It's a crazy world we live in. :<

I also adore this game. Definitely the best SH game since 2... In fact, it completely restored my faith in the franchise, what with it being original, unique, scary, emotional, and just so so Silent Hill without having to rely on boring, tired, staid, clichéd imagery of rust and boring hackneyed mumbo jumbo about cults (bleurgh).

I love everything about this game...the gameplay concept, including the fact that you can't really die. The environment designs are tremendous, the atmosphere chilling and melancholy throughout. The brilliant psychotherapy sections, and the story... Oh, I find this game so frightening and yet at the end it makes me cry. Just like SH2. How many games can make you cry?

Shattered Memories, to me, is - like SH1 and 2 - a proper work of art. Criticisms that it's "just a walking simulator", or "it has no connection to the other games" completely miss the point of what this game is about, and what it game is trying to do.

I am thrilled that this game exists, and I hope that Climax get to make further Silent Hill games, because they understand what makes a good SH game whilst being able to make one completely fresh, new, and surprising.

Dark Sky, you said it perfectly. I think Climax is great at making Silent Hill games.
