I don't know about Silent Hill: Homecoming, but before that, there are several references to the town's tourism being in a state of slow decline.

I wouldn't mind seeing glimpses of the real town. I think the mystery lies in the nature of the otherside itself, not in how the real world looks and functions. As long as you keep the nature and purpose of the otherside a mystery, I'd be okay with it.

Really? I always thought it was bustling. But now that you say that, I feel like you might be right. Did Henry say something about it in Silent Hill 4?
