I really hope they also place extreme emphasis on a scary atmosphere. On that Facebook page, in the description of Vatra games, it says: "Our focus is on high-end action titles for the Xbox® 360, PLAYSTATION®3 and PC." From what developers are doing with games in terms of action these days, this causes me to worry.-Alligator- wrote:I checked Vatra's facebook page. Apparently the game will be using the Unreal engine 3. They also said that they are extremely focusing on the story.

What their are actually saying is this: Vatra is working on two projects. The first project is an arcade game for Xbox Live and Playstation Network. The second game they work on is much more interesting and extremely focused on story. We can only say, that it comes out the beginning of 2011 and it is built on Unreal engine 3. It is something you can look forward to.Faded-Myth wrote:Crappy web-translation but it gives you a rough idea.

So obviously what they refer to as "the first project" is Rush'n Attack and "the second game" is Silent Hill.

-Alligator- you are going to be very handy around here! I am hoping they are going to explore other aspects of Silent Hill outside of the Cult thing.

Or not buy it? That's what I do if I don't like the idea behind something. I mean "Link's Crossbow Training" was pretty much the same thing for Zelda, an equally loved and elegant series. It was lame, I didn't buy itsimeonalo wrote:I'm going to cry.
But how do we know that the Czech don't use the same word for 'game' as they do 'arcade'? It could just mean 'continuation of the Silent Hill game series', or they could have been saying 'continuations of the Silent Hill series and arcade classic Rush'N'Attack'.

Czechs use the work "arcade" usually for simple action shooters, for example games like Geometry Wars, but certainly not Silent Hill.DistantJ wrote:Or not buy it? Here's $745, thanks.-Alligator- wrote:I am sure you all already know what Vatra is working on, it's another sequel to horror game Silent Hill and they also work on an arcade game Rush'n'Attack.
I hope you help with all of the upcoming information in dutch we will probably get.

Have you read the rest of the thread? As -Alligator- already wrote (and I can confirm since I´m Czech too) what it actually says is that they´re working on the continuation the SH series AND arcade game Rush'N'Attack'. No need to worry there .DistantJ wrote:Or not buy it? That's what I do if I don't like the idea behind something. Sorry, I just want to ask, what SH developer other then Double Helix has said they are not focusing on the story? I mean, that is kind of SH's thing. Action like homecoming didn't really work out. Thought, combat does seem to work in Alen Wake (paranormal/horror type game).NanayaShiki wrote:I read "focused on story" and I got very very happy. Let's just keep our fingers crossed it is a good story.
Edit: when I say combat, I mean good combat. SH combat has always been slightly clunky.
^Bah. Homecoming's combat is one of the main reasons why i played through it repeatedly, and got all the achievements. it's the only 360 game i've done this for.
anyway i'm not in favor of a shooter either, but if that's what Vatra's working on, i hope it turns out to be fantastic. not sure if i'd get it, depends on how it scores.
