How would you guys feel about co-op?

Post by Varg6 »

I know Konami never said Silent Hill would be co-op but I figured I'd ask you guys and see what you think. It'd be interesting, considering there are different prisoners on the bus, if each convict was playable and each one sees a different Silent Hill based on their crime(s). However, and perhaps ironically, they need each other's help to get out of Silent Hill. Just a thought, maybe online co-op for side quests or something. I doubt this is something they've wanted to implement but it's kind of a neat idea.

My Obscure-sense tingling... Maybe maybe... I wouldn't mind that... Something new, fresh... Maybe maybe...

I'd hate it more than RE5.

It's an interesting idea, but I'm not totally sold on it just because I don't normally like the games with more than one playable character. Online co-op is different, and it's just not Silent Hill (to me).

I think that it'd be very fun, while not feeling very Silent Hill-esque whatsoever. So overall, I wouldn't hate or love the idea. But the game will undoubtedly be best suited without it.

Sounds okay, not really silent hill-ish
But then, i dont think i'd ever have a chance to try it.

So, no problems from me.

I don't think it would work. Silent Hill is at it's best when you're isolated and alone from the rest of the world. Plus it would probably lose a lot of its potential scare value much like Resident Evil 5.
Bitch, don't kill my vibe.

I wouldn't like it, for several reasons.
One that is worth a mention: What if you're playing online, trying to examine some memos to get clues and you have like a 12 year old brat yelling at you something like "FUCK! C'MON I WANNA KILL MONSTERS!"? That would be very stupid, and uncool.

A better idea is to have mutiple playable characters. Take Resident Evil 2 as an example, if you want.

No co-op, No multi player. Some games should remain single player.

Agree with sh#1fan. SH should remain as it always was.

Co-op would require a large playing area - given that Silent Hill titles have been 'smallish' type games, I dont think this would work.

I would be happy with a larger play area within a single player experience

This would be the only Silent Hill that probably COULD incorporate online co-op because there are other convicts on that bus who are (and I hope I'm not going out on a limb here) worthy of entering Silent Hill, if you will. Perhaps this wouldn't be the main game's focus but maybe DLC side quests or something. I don't know how they'd work it out myself but it's just an interesting idea. Convicts of different races, religions, sexuality, etc are forced to work together in Silent Hill--could be a unique and redeeming experience...

As long as the single player is good, I guess I wouldn't mind a side story about two completely different characters, in a completely different scenario from the main story line. Like Portal 2 is planning to do.

I want what RE2 had. Not co-op at the same time, but more like "Choose which character to play" with interacting actions between both of them.

Something like RE2 and SH2's scenarios, except being mixed in.

However, if you mean live two player action, I want something like Super Mario Galaxy 2, where the second player mainly helps obtain items and kill monsters, though the second character may not be seen (unless it's more of a Flashlight Beam replacing the Master Luma from SMG2).

No online player please! I've had enough 12-year-olds call me a 'fag' already

What's the point in having a co-op mode but no online co-op? It would be stupid. . . Not missing the fact that many people can't play with others in their home so they must play online if they want another person to interact. . .

I agree. This would definitely kill the series for me.

Not really interested, not even as a side-thing that has nothing to do with the main game (like Red Dead Redemption). Plus I don't want to even imagine how much hatred the game and everyone involved in it's production would get. There's already alot of dissatisfaction with horror games becoming too action orientated (Homecoming, RE4, RE5, etc).

I wouldn't like an SH co-op. I just don't think it would work too well.
