Hahaha, the more difficulty options the better. I love how SH3 went from Beginner to Extreme X AND had Riddle difficulty. That's about as good as difficulty options get outside of The World Ends With You.

Yup. I like my games real tough, but I also believe in options, because not everyone can put up with the things I will. Three difficulties, five difficulties, even ten: I don't care, as long as everyone gets something suited for them. :)

These screens look delicious!

The new Otherworld makes my body tingle in various places which probably should not be talked about in this thread.

I have to say, I was a bit hesitant when I heard that yet another company was developing this one. But after seeing these screenshots, I think I'm truly getting excited. The almost-blue luminescence that's been mentioned makes the atmosphere very mysterious and unsettling.

Update: Silent Hill's Facebook page has released two new screens that show one of the creatures:

Freakin' love this shot below. The bluish-green fog with the brownish-yellow ground below is excellent color contrast:

Anyone wanna bet the creature in the first shot where the guy is holding his ears is called a Banshee?

Looks zombie-ish...
But I trust they wouldn't resort to that. :?

I hope we see some less human-like monsters, too.

Banshee-like monsters, that's actually a pretty good concept. Though potentially annoying if not implemented very carefully...

I like those pics. The monster on the bottom one actually doesn't bother me. It manages to both look wounded and dangerous. As for the top screen, the fog effects are pretty odd and eerie. So far I like the look of the game OK.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Like a cornered, wounded animal or something. I can't wait to hear the sound design on the Screamer.

I love the idea of the water aspect for this new game! i think it'll give the game more depth! makes more sense for it to be water washing everything away rather than fire! its rather exciting to say the least i dunno if i'll be able to wait till autum lol! and god only knows wen it'll be released here in the uk! xx

Hopefully Silent Hill: Downpour will release this Autumn which Konami have confirmed this could be anywhere from September to November. However the game could be delayed because Vatra's other project "Rush N Attack: Ex Patriot" which is only a Playstation Network and XBOX Live title has been delayed it was supposed to release last year and still has no proper release date. Although perhaps the reason it hasn't come out is because Vatra are focusing more on Silent Hill: Downpour. Obviously I hope Silent Hill: Downpour isn't pushed back into 2012 but I think there is a possibility it could happen.

I second this. Usually I live by the creed: ZOMBIES MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER! But I feel the need to add a stipulation in fine print of: *Except Silent Hill.

This game looks gorgeous! But as long as the game maintains that errie atmosphere that will keep me wondering if something is lurking around the area, then I wouldn't care too much about the graphics. I'm really hoping that Vatra make the monsters tough enough that you'd think twice about try to fight them, so running away becomes a viable option again(something that hasn't been since Silent Hill 3).

the designs kind of remind of the ghosts from silent hill 4 but i guess it aint so bad to mix it up as long as they have some of the more traditional looking monsters.
