3D confirmed, Korn doing main theme and October release date

n a picture posted on the official Silent Hill Facebook page, producer Devin Shatsky is hanging out around the Downpour E3 demo booth. But what’s this? The screenshot mentions that Devin “rocks the E3 demo in the 3D”. Devin is even wearing 3D glasses.

Ignoring the extra “the”, we think 3D support has just been announced for Silent Hill: Downpour. Nothing official yet, but this sounds like an interesting addition that we weren’t quite expecting.

The Korn thing will probably be contrevertial, but I don't really care, its the main theme, it most likely wont be used throughout the game and it will bring big interest into the game

Dan Licht isn't even able to compose a main theme for the game ? And they hire this shitty band to make it instead... Too bad I had faith in Licht, now it's gone.

edit: let my clarify this by saying I didn't mean the game as a whole, just what had been shown the day prior. The excitement I had felt from all the day before had the wind taken out of its sails.

Of all the bands! If they were gonna do a rock theme, I could've come up with a dozen better choices. Well, that's a negative. But you know, I wasn't too happy with Mary Elizabeth McGlynn either, and that game was still awesome. Like others have said, it's just the title theme... I hope. I'm actually not concerned about the 3D, and I'm pretty sure it's just included because the upcoming movie will be 3D.

I knew about Korn, as a band, but I never listened to them.
I searched on youtube for Korn. Listened to a couple of their songs.
...they seem....simple.

However, a theme is a theme. I didn't really like the SH1 theme that much and it didn't bother me at all throughout the game. We'll see what happens.

As for the images, I really like them! Now it does feel Silent Hill-ish!

Terrible, terrible decision. I know it isn't going to ruin the game (I pray it doesn't), but geez. I just don't see this as a good decision at all.
They hired a professional composer! He should be doing this! They don't need to bring on some awful, forgotten "metal" band to garner interest. I honestly think seeing Korn associated with this will turn people away from it.


Let's place our bets! How big will the label saying "Featuring an original track by KORN!" be on the boxart?

I used to love Korn - the first album fucking rocks. Later years they got whatever but Ive often thought Angel's Thanatos kinda hinted at their sound. I don't see how that can be denied. All the same though, it feels a bit commercial. Hopefully they won't make such a big deal out of it and use it as a "selling point"...

I hardly think it will turn people away from a game though, I dont think a "main theme" has that much power.

It's very likely that Daniel has composed and written everything for them, I don't think they'd be allowed to turn up with their own song about the game
