Monster Glitch?

Post by Droo »

Hey everyone.

No spoilers please, as I'm not very far in the game. Recently something odd has happened. None of the monsters will approach me. They keep their distance and move away from me if I walk towards them.

Is my game glitched out? I've quit and reloaded and they keep doing it. Is this supposed to be happening or do I need to restart my game?

I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not, but I've had it happen to me too. For me it happens rarely and only seems to affect enemies in that area, kinda creepy.

And now they stopped doing it. Bizarre.

It's a glitch that happens sometimes, so you're definitely not the only person experiencing this.

I've had it happen too. It seems to occur around the mid-point of the game. Enjoy it while you can, it doesn't last for long.

I just posted about htis in first immpressions. I wish I saw this thread first.

OK...the creatures! :( When I first encounter them they came at me very aggressively and almost killed me. They took a lot of damaged and while they are not scary they were formidable. Now I'm in Silent Hill and they run away from ME! I had to run down a muscle man he kept backing away from me. LOL!

They seem a lot less aggressive now and easy to avoid when outside.

I saw this on a video of someone playing it and it looked a lot like pathing issues with the monsters. It seemed to happen more frequently in tight alleyways which lead me to believe it was bad pathing and the monster was trying to get to the player via a different route but couldn't find one so ended up sort of dancing backwards and forwards.
Though who knows, maybe it was intentional and is meant to mean something.

If it was meant to mean something, well shit they really failed.

Honestly this game is a little too rough around the edges for me to love it. I think I'd be ok with another Vatra SH but man they need to step it up, especially with the visuals, which were drab in a bad way. SH2 had some amazing examples of dark murky places, this just kinda looks like Gears of War 1 with better textures on humans and without any cool shader effects.

I've noticed that too. I was by the draw bridge and a storm come up. I was surrounded by screamers and minions but they never approached me, it was a pain in the ass trying to chase after them. lol

This glitch was in full effect this time when I played. Laid the beatdown on a bunch of prisoner minions and screamers. Try dropkicking this!

I'm at the end of the game and I never experienced it. :( Man, I was looking forward to it.

Well, the glitch came back for me shortly after I last posted in this and remained FOR THE REST OF THE GAME.

What a way to kill any suspense or fear in this game. How could it have been released like this?

^That's very strange. I didn't have it at all. I'd say that sucks for you, Drew. :( Perhaps they'll patch it and fix this (Oh, who am I kidding? They couldn't even patch HD collection :P).

Well, I only encountered a few enemies who did this. The rest did a pretty good job of trying to kick my ass. It was released because this wasn't an issue with every play through and maybe the developers didn't notice it. The few times it happened to me, I just wrote it off as a defensive tactic.

I defended The Room. I defended Homecoming. I have always been a champion for the lesser games in this series but Downpour has me seething in disgusted, disappointed rage.

There are several people who don't consider this to be one of the lesser games in the series, including me. We both loved Shattered Memories, but a lot of people consider that to be a low point. To each their own.
