I highly doubt it. They probably just asked him to do cover art.David01 wrote:VenusDoom wrote:^ So they can say an original Team Silent member helped contribute to the game... .-.
And this game is actually coming out in Japan, unlike Homecoming which did not come out in Japan. It's interesting that Ito is doing a boxart for this game. Being that all the concepts and creatures were not created by him. Hmm makes you wonder if maybe he had more to do with this game than it appears.

I love the Silent Hill Series. The games: Homecoming, Origins, and Shattered Memories, did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. Just because they were not by Team Silent doesn't mean that they're bad games. I believe in this series. I believe that one day, we can have a game that will make all Silent Hill fans Happy. I believe that Silent Hill Downpour can achieve this.
Team Silent may be gone, but their series isn't. Instead... it's here, it's alive.

You realize Capcom was the ones who asked them to change Dante's look, right? The devs were going to stick with his original design, or at least a lot closer to it.Silent Fantasy wrote:^^ Sounds more like the dumbass devs on the DmC project..

Huh? I heard part of the reason dante looked like that is because one of the devs was conceited and wanted to try to make him somewhat in his own image.
Anyway if ito did the cover art how come he couldn't do some monster designs? That would of been great.

^^ yeah, i know. but listen to them talk about making the game " cooler" and fit to whats " cool now ". capcom says what they want, but the devs are coming up with what they have.
as for Ito, ill be wanting to see his work. i just hope the US release gets a decent covor too. something a bit more subtle than SHH. god forbid if its worse. i doubt it will be though. Vatra seems competent so far.

Re: Ito working on boxart for Japan release
Very. But as long as it looks scary and different and grabs attention of people who might not be interested otherwise, I'll be fine. I hated SM's cover art, I preferred the Japanese version's. Would something like that sell in NA?

Re: Ito working on boxart for Japan release
I don't see why they wouldn't just use Ito's art for the American release as well. It saves them a little money and they probably end up with a better cover... seems like a no brainer.
Re: Ito working on boxart for Japan release
Nope. From what I've heard, they originally were going to be sticking toward the old Dante design and then were told to change it.SPRINGS02 wrote:Huh? I heard part of the reason dante looked like that is because one of the devs was conceited and wanted to try to make him somewhat in his own image.
