Silent Hill Downpour at Comic Con 2011
Has anybody seen this yet? It's the cutscene with Howard but without the guys talking over it. It was uploaded yesterday.
Edit: more gameplay from a part we've already seen

Nice videos. Too bad about the stupid comments made by stupid people below the videos.

I don't read YouTube comments anymore. It's mostly a bunch of misinformed people who only seem to comment on videos they hate.

^ Nobody could have described it better.
However, I do agree with the voice acting and animations. I know the voices are supposed to be awkward and all...but...I don't feel that the actor for Murphy does a good job for portraying that sense of just being caught/awkward nervousness. However, I praise Howard's V.O. Also, the animations are horrible. SM did it better, IMO.

There's still time for polish on the animations.
Also, I agree that Henry's voicework seemed kind of odd in this video.

I think it's because no background noise has been added in that scene yet, you can hear the voices a little too well

Howard's reference to something less rusty would be a horse, as in Past Life, I suppose. Could just be overthinking it.

I'd say it's more likely that he means a non-rusty car.

The Cutscene Had A Cinematic Feel To It....I Like That....I Just Hope They Dont Overdo Those Hollywood Horror Jump-Scare Tactics That Most Of Us Are Accustomed To...The Whole Ambience Had A 'Twin Peaks/SH2' Feel To It...

From this clip I can tell the " look over the shoulder" mechanics was inspired from Silent Hill Shattered Memories....not too bad...

Urgh, looks like fighting is gonna be a bit frustrating. BUT overall I still think this game is gonna be amazing!soam108 wrote:Based on this clip I watched on GameTrailers.....my optimism has gone way down.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour at Comic Con 2011
I'm going to be honest, the fighting didn't look difficult, did you see how quickly the first screamer went down after the player actually started hitting it with a weapon? To me it just seemed as if the player had no idea what they were doing, which is understandable what with that being the only playable combat section in the demo.

^i agree. combat doesn't look difficult, plus you still have the option to run away if combat isn't your thing.

Some new videos (one's a YouTube link of the video a few posts up):
Dark Combat Gameplay
Fire and Chase Gameplay
Stuff we've already seen, but (again) with no talking.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour at Comic Con 2011
I finally understand some of the complains regarding the quality of the VO. In the Fire and Chase clip, Murphy's voice, at least in the beginning, feels like it's been dubbed over, not like the character is actually speaking.
That said, I'm still liking what we've seen so far.

Re: Silent Hill Downpour at Comic Con 2011
It's not that big of a deal, but I really like the fact that Murphy makes the comments he does about the car. It sounded as if he really appreciated it--shows us a side of his character we haven't seen thus far.
I like Murphy's voice actor well enough, from what we've seen. He's getting some emotion into the part, and he's better than Henry Townshend's, at the very least. I would've liked a little more excitement (not excitement as in "Cool!" but as in "WHAT THE FUCK?") in his voice when he saw the thing in the window, but it's working for me.
What really interested me was his response to Howard's "Going to prison?" question. My first thought was that he'd say something like "Not if I can help it." But he just sort of avoids the topic altogether, like he doesn't want to think about it. I like that.

Hmm well, at least it looked better when the player actually had a hunch how to play a video game.
