This is more anecdote than proof, but the member TomWaltz first showed up waaaay back to pimp his then-upcoming miniseries,
Sinner's Reward. This was long before anyone knew who he was or what he was capable of, never mind long before he was ever being considered to write for a Silent Hill game.
Think of what the comics environment was like before
Sinner's Reward and
Past Life. At that time, claiming to be an author of a Silent Hill comic book was no way to gain popularity. He had to build that up over years, against a lot of skepticism, and no internet troll has the patience to do that.
The ones that do kinda deserve to win.
