wow i think the composer has taken on more than he can handle
Main reason i made this post is to warn you and ask your opinion
from 7.40 onwards what does the music remind you of for me
sounds like Italian music.

Notes:

1. The game begin with no film effects..No fading in or out. the scene begins with the camera directly staring at Murphy' face as the warden tells him that he has to go.

2.The music sounds a little upbeat seeing that the games starts with Murphy walking through a prison corridor...

3.The prisoners seem pretty angry at him and continue to taunt him as he walks past the many jail cells in the corridor.

4.There is an emphasis on the security cameras watching his every movement...

5.Block B is written as...
'Block
B'
The B.B initals might have a hidden meaning..

6. the jail warden taunts Murphy about how much they are gonna miss him despite Murphy telling him that he wont miss the place one bit...this might mean that he may have been abused in prison[ala shawshank redemption].

7.Notice the sound as Murphy walks towards the bus...it is identical to the ambient sound made in SH2 as James stares into a well to initiate his first save...(loved it!!!)

8.Cunningham stares sternly at Murphy as he makes his way into the bus....looks like his alleged crime might be a little more brutal than what we expect it to be...

9.Cunnigham stops Murphy for a second before letting him in just to mess with him..

10.Cunningham keeps a close eye at Murphy throughout the trip...

11.A Flashback occurs with a BIG MAJOR SPOILER AT THE END..... [Let's just say there's a huge Macaulay Culkin Jacob's Ladder reference in this scene!!!!]

12. Murphy pendleton was imprisoned 12/01/07....a brief flash shows the sky as a bunch of crows fly in a flock....(possible death symbolism....)

13. A fellow prisoner(the one who dies at the hands of a Screamer) asks Murphy if it was true that he committed the crime in question, only to have Cunningham yell at him to shut up...(at this point, it's almost a guaranteed that he may have been convicted of child abuse or murder)...

14. The bus crashes and the preview ends....
Now I Know, The Real Reason Why I Came To This Town....I Wonder....What Was I Afraid Of? Without You..I've Got Nothing...Now, We Can Be Together Again.....Mary.....

Don't watch if you think you get to actually hear anything other than a couple of German guys being annoying.

The music is reminiscent of heavy Italian influence though. Ties to Murphey's past? We shall see.

I'm liking the cinematic feel of it all, I just wish that we didn't have to listen to the loud german dudes yelling. Anyway the music from what I can hear sounds good, and everything is very atmospheric, I like the camera angles used, the voice acting seems decent.

So far it looks good, I just hope that the gameplay holds a candle to that cinematic. Also I hope that we don't get some clich twist ending at the end of the game or something.

And unlike some, I actually like the Korn song, I feel that the lyrics to it really fit the storyline, at least I hope that it fits the overall story.

Don't get me wrong; I'm extremely excited for Downpour. I'm even picking it up on release day...
But I would prefer something less "cinematic."
I don't know how to explain it... the other games feel so dream-like. This is more standard. I guess it had to be "modernized" a bit.
Oh well. It isn't that big of a deal for me; just a stylistic choice that I disagree with.

We've not actually been in the real world in a Silent Hill game before, we've seen glimpses of it but never been there, I like it.

I liked the music. Very upbeat, and thus ironic. Walking in a prison wonderland.

I must say i liked the music during the bus drive, fits the mood perfectly.
And as thy_butcher rightly said, its less dreamlike, but I think it has to be for that situation. and hell, a lot of Silent Hills begin with a dream (1,3,4,5) so its good to have something else again :)

@Axel_98
I know what scream you're talking about, although I'm almost certain it isn't the Wilhelm. It's another scream like the Wilhelm, but less famous.
I believe it also sounds off right at the beginning of SH4 - Funny Stuff. :p

I'm actually not disappointed by what I've just seen, pretty much at all.

I do think those German guys should stfu during the video, though.

hahahah I know! I was looking for a youtube option to turn off forevoices, then I tried captions and it was all for nothing. They need to remake w/o them talking through everything.

Murphy seems to be hated by the entire planet. That's interesting. He also looks like a hopeless rape toy.

I really like the music, especially the one toward the end o fthe video. Extremely beautiful. I also like the music with the mandolin. It doesn't sounds italian IMO.

I watched it, but I didn't really see anything that really made me fangasm or anything. Also, I agree, the voices were very distracting. I wanted them to be quiet. They were very loud and I couldn't understand them. Damn you, closed captions! You've failed me the only time I actually need you!

I like that the game begins in the real world and we slowly descend into Murphy's otherworld. The first partial transition being when he wakes up after the crash. There may be police cars, but I think since they're on the cusp of the town, the RW is showing a bit. Love it.

So, did the road actually end in the real world?
Maybe it was a temporary manifestation that the driver saw.

That depends. Since they're all prisoners, and a cop, maybe they were all taken into the otherworld together at some point.

This could be it, but why would the town manifest the road ending to the driver? Surely not JUST to lure Murphy to the town...

Is that a SH4 reference I spot there?

I wonder, was it because Murphy "triggered" entering the otherworld when the other person asked him if he really committed the crime?
