Radio?

Post by Biccard »

Radio? What's going on with that radio?
I can't figure out what it does. It doesn't alert us of monsters like the other games, does it? I just hear what sounds like inaudible police communication all the time...? I have not once noticed it acting up when a monster is close.

The walkie-talkie gives off slightly more static around monsters. It's subtle, but there.

The radio stays completely silent unless a monster is nearby.
That's how it is for me. Just like the other SH's.

The garbled police lingo only ever acted up for me when a monster was nearby. It was fine for me.

I did notice it going off at least once without any monster. When you first get the walkie talkie, you hear the static only near the body. I have been pondering for a while about that. At a glance I figured it was just to show you how it worked, but it is the only time I am aware of in the game where it is going off without a monster nearby. Probably going to spawn all sorts of theories.

I didn't get any static. Just some random police chatter.

Maybe together we can make a mark in the stars we embark
And keep us together as the lights go dark

If you mean the random radios that is located around the game, I think they are there for some kind of calm and relaxation. Thats pretty much the effect they have on me. Turn on a radio and listen to DJ Ricks and some tunes.

I never heard the radio all the time, mainly when monsters were in vicinity. There were times it would make noises when no monsters were present, but I think that was to keep you on edge or something. For me, this most notably happened in

the Monastery.

Indeed. One of the bathrooms at the Monestary, where Murphey sees himself in the mirror and a creature is about to hit him from behind. The radio chatter goes insane, and a lot of weird splashing noises can be heard, but theres nothing there.

I amend my "monster" information: it's generally when something bad is near. USUALLY for monsters, but occasionally used for other scares.

The police chatter is essentially the static. It acts the same in that it shows up when monsters and such are nearby.

Did anyone else found weird that the static appeared in the sidequest

I can't remember any harm within that room.

^There's not one monster in that room, if I do recall. It does happen when you get close to it, probably to make you think, "Oh shit, this dead body's gonna start attacking me. It's 0rigins 2.0!"

If I remember correctly, doesn't...
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
his body disappear after the side quest is completed? If so, I think the static might have something to do with it. Sort of like a hint: "come back here later for something". After all, if you do, you get a new outfit (ew! Dead guy clothes).
But that's assuming I'm remembering that side quest correctly...

Can someone tell me where the first radio can be found? I've found stuff online saying by the bus, but I searched that area for close to an hour and found nothing.

There's radios before that. I think there really is one right next to the crash. It's on the backside of the bus near the edge of the lake if I remember correctly.

I know there's one right after the bus. It's on the ground through a narrow space you can squeeze through. The space is on your left. It's the place that crows fly out of and has a dead prisoner on the other side.
