Is it a new dimension?
Is the rainy world another dimension? Like, Could that be a new world?
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
in the beggining of the game, when murphy leaves the Devil's Pit, it's rainy and there are lots of monsters.

Re: Is it a new dimension?
The Otherworld isn't divided into 'worlds' like that any more than the real world is. It's just weather. Heavily symbolic weather, but weather all the same. It doesn't indicate an entirely separate universe.

Re: Is it a new dimension?
I still abide by the Real World/Fog World/Otherworld trichotomy. I see the Fog World and the rainy Silent Hill as the same world, just changed by Murphy's psyche.

Re: Is it a new dimension?
That screenshot totally doesn't matter because the foggy world has been erroneously called the Real World multiple times.
Also, menu stuff in Downpour have already been demonstrated to be wrong, such as the character biographies.

This, not to mention the town is unexplainedly deserted (yet we clearly see it having expanded since the previous games).AuraTwilight wrote:That screenshot totally doesn't matter because the foggy world has been erroneously called the Real World multiple times.

So, what does the rain symbolize?AuraTwilight wrote:The Otherworld isn't divided into 'worlds' like that any more than the real world is. It's just weather. Heavily symbolic weather, but weather all the same. It doesn't indicate an entirely separate universe.
edit: the only think i can relate the rain to is the prison's showers...

one more thing. I was playing right now (my third playtrough), and i'm supposed to go to the st.maria's. Well, it all became really dark all of the sudden, it's not like the darkworld from the other games because i can still see everything, but it's like it became night. is it normal? is this the dark world?

^You were probably spotted by a patrol car, making it become really dark. The patrol car will transform into a horde of screamers that will start to follow you.
