Wait! They're Closers as in they close up areas. Ever since I read their name when I first read about Silent Hill 3 I always thought they were Closers as in more close. My mind has been blown.
Back on topic, the one thing fro this game that stick out in my head the most is
The one scene in the Otherworld church has always stuck with me. It's the scene of what looks like the landscape from venus or something, all yellow, with valtiel doing something strange in the distance. It's a powerful scene- it makes you feel very far away, and very small.
For some reason, the image that still sticks in my mind when I think of SH3 is the 'thing' hanging upside down in the locker, struggling... I guess it just stuck with me more than the psychedelic hospital floor.
It wasn't even that scary now that I think about it, but at the time Leonard surprised the hell outta me! That's the thing I remember the most, because I was expecting him to be like the male version of Claudia or something and I was also kinda not paying so much attention while he was giving his little speech. Also because he just sounded so normal over the phone, so it caught me off guard when he popped out and it turned out that
I love this game to death.
But the one thing that I remember most is also the thing that bugs the hell out of me...
When ever you enter the a room with monsters in it you're soon alerted of this by sudden shifts in music and industrial noises. I wouldn't mind this, but then why the hell do you even need a radio?!
I remember shitting myself when Danny falls from the ceiling in the Mansion. That scared me the most my first play through. Closely followed by the dogs in the subway jumping out of nowhere. Those are my two things I remember most cause I loved being scared.

I loved the subway for the possible suicide newpaper and then the ghost pushing you onto the tracks. So freaky. And even tho the ghosts in SH4 were totally different and unrelated, it's still a cool similarity.
"That town. That God forsaken town. It just, keeps, calling me back..."
The alternate hospital. Walls pulsating with blood, the mirror room. . . it was the only time I put the controller down, avoided SH3 for a week because the atmosphere was so intense.
I haven't played this game in forever, but lately I've really been itching to run through it once more.
I loved this game when it was first released (and I still do).
I most fondly remember the day the game was released. I called in sick to work (I worked nights) so I could sit up all night to play it.
Also, Brookhaven Hospital. loved every minute of it.
I remember going "That can fit down her throat o_O ??

I never liked the hospital levels, because they always mean an otherworld change. I don't like the otherworld. it feels to much like it's forcing scary upon you. I did love the haunted house in this game. definatly the selling point for me.
It was my first Silent Hill game, so what I remember mostly was the emotions that the Silent Hill series bring out with it, and the way it makes you feel when playing.
I also remember being really confused seeing as how I never played the other ones.
The thing that strikes me the most I think was the nurse holding the baby/doll hanging from the ceiling over a big dark pit, just something about that image strikes me.

I always thought that the monster music really created a lot of tension... by the way, the radio noise increases the closer the creature gets, so it still serves a purpose.
Oh, the most memorable parts... where to begin... The otherworld hospital, I mean, wow. The walls were alive for godsake! the soundtrack, the noises... why does SH3 get so much crap sometimes? this game is insane!
The fetus part! That was disgusting! Also the mirror room... that made me freak out. Yeah, pretty much the whole hospital I remember being terrified at.
