Other Residents of Brookhaven Hospital

Post by Burning Man »

You've all met Leonard Wolf and Stanley Coleman. But did you know there were many more patients in Brookhaven Hospital? Konami was kind enough to list of few.
  • A lust murderer.
A patient suffering from a Binge eating disorder.
    A marijuana addict.
    A suicidal patient.
    A patient suffering from autism.
A religious zealot (not Leonard, by the way, because Leonard suffers from schizophrenia).
    A mental retard.
    A masochist.
I think Silent Hill 3 would have been much more interesting if we met these nice people, but alas.

Yeah, you don't know how much I would love to see behind ever locked door, visit every area of Silent Hill, and find the backstory to every little thing (such as Robbie the rabbit stuck under the cart in SH3), but the mystery of it all makes it so interesting.

Part of me wants to know every little thing, but another part of me wants to just imagine it all. I think, if I had to choose, I would have gone with the former; I'm just too geeky for the small details.

It makes me hope that if there is an SH 5 in the works, they will add more of these types of things, and you might be able to somehow interact with them.

Was Konami kind enough to mention anything more about these patients?

Great info Burning Man. SH3 was a rather short game, so it would have been interesting to know some more about the patients.

Wait. I guess I always just assumed it was a hospital, as in for the sick, injured, dying, etc. But now you're making me wonder. Some hospitals have floors for the mentally insane, or generally, people who are dealing with issues but can't take care of themselves, etc. Is this how Brookhaven Hospital is???

According to St.Thomas, the first floor is for general treatment while the other two floors are for the mentally unstable. Which in my opinion makes sense.

Yeah it would've really been cool if we knew more about these people.
It's a miracle how limited time and/or budget can butcher the game...

I don't know I'd call this omission "butchering", because obviously none of this information was vital enough to the storyline to warrant its inclusion. Sounds like secondary details that would excite the intuitive like us, but I wouldn't bet the game actually lost anything for not having this.

Hmm yeah when I think about it "butchering" is kind of a strong expression. What I wanted to say was... Well, it'd be nice if there were more details to it all.

Yes...no...Maybe. They may have been in the hospital, but not the Otherworld. Or maybe the other way around.
