I don't know why...but that hand really creeps me out!(Hosptial in the otherworld)
For some reason that's one of the things that creeps me out in this game. I keep expecting to see it move or something ...*ahem* anyway!...

What do you think the "person"(or whatever it could be) was trying to do? Just hanging there?

It's one of the Otherworlds more appealing, pleasing features I find ...

I always thought it was a nurse's hand or something. But to me it was never that amusing, to think about it's whole meaning, you know.

It could refer to some poor patient who tried to escape. Maybe his hand was ripped off at the process and just left hanging there.

An Addams Family reference?? Just kidding, I think it has no explanation... It just is damn creepy...

It makes no difference in any case. Obviously the window is open when patient tries to climb down but could have been shut afterwards.

Or perhaps it's a hand of a nurse like Mephisto is suggesting. Maybe a nurse tried to escape because things went to hell and got her hand ripped off in the process.

The cut seems to be very clean, though. Maybe this is not about ripping after all. Looks more like a work of a buzzsaw or something.

My hypothesis has to be that it was the director who went nuts. Perhaps he was sexually abusing this particular nurse and she threatened to make it public. When danger from the directors part was apparent, she decided to escape through the window. She was, however, caught in act by the crazy director who sawed her hand off in a belief that she would die from blood loss and tell nobody. So it was directors last change to keep her mouth shut.

I doubt that it has any meaning.To me,it's just one of those Silent Hill disturbing moments...or is it

Hah! When I see it from this angle it's not scary at all now

Yeah that angle seems so cartoonish.

I remember that hand. I think the meaning is... hand. IDK. I never even thought of a deep meaning of it. Just something creepy they added in.
