I don't see the point why James vacation tape would be haunted in any way.
Haunted by his memories!!!
In fact, the town itself seems to have a strange barrier which disturb or simply neglect signals and radio waves. How does that work with electricity? Do Silent Hill actually have working electricity, or is everything mere manifestation?
The real world must have functioning electricity. I don't see how a resort town could have otherwise. Since it's the Otherworld that James and company experience, however, there's technically no electric flow, and no programming to receive anyway. It's all their minds' doing.

I always thought that maybe he was sleeping when the monster killed him. My dad always falls asleep when he's watching TV, so if Harry was indeed sleeping, he never would've known what was coming. It would explain why he's dead on the chair, rather than at least looking like he made an attempt to escape.
you can see that lil' byotch acting so-called sad, but no!
you don't fool me! She and Claudia planned it all so the god could be birthed. they slipped some tylenol into harry's soda and he fell asleep. then cybil shot him.
that's why they don't even bury him.
Nice theory, but the boss you fight at the apartment building was the monster sent to kill Harry by Claudia. Besides, depending on what ending you got in the first game, Cybil might be dead...unless you meant Claudia.
Are you still following me? Do I have to scream? ~Heather
I don't quite get the whole 'transfigurement' business.
Does Missionary only resemble a monster to Heather, or is it actually physically altered? I always thought it to be the latter due to its inhuman resilience and ability to block bullets.

17 yaers have passed, and Harry has appearently
moved on with his life. If in these circumstances
would you yourself be on gaurd every day of your life?
Like prior stated he had not the drive to find his daughter
plus he probably thought that he had done in any threat to
himself or his family.
Why a more heroic death? What would be the purpose?
I know that he is the hero of 1 but that does not mean that
he should be given a heros death either.
Not that I think he is the king or anything but in this case
why could Elvis have died a more glorious death instead of on
the shitter?
You're quite right Emptimass.
I think Romanticizing death tends sometimes to be boring.
Branches of the heedless moon sing,
And heartedly break his tears within.
Draw thy sword, loveless wind.
i think that claudia might have knocked harry out with a spell/or harry was in shock from seeing a monster again, and couldent move in either, so the missionary sclice/stabed him to death.
what does no man want, but dosent want to lose either?
a lawsuit.
How is it that Harry can get killed by just one monster so easily (he doesnt even look like he gets out of the chair), when hes able to fight his way through SH1 and defeat a god?
Wouldn't he be able to defend himself or at least be on his guard (I doubt someone who went through SH1 would die so easily)
Based on those terms, it's my guess that he was caught by surprise. However, there is a chance that he was able to defend himself and perhaps Claudia just moved the body to the chair.
Quiet stairway. Rusted elevator. Darkness. White dress. Joy.
