sheesh whats the deal with 3d, im not a huge fan of it, plus it makes the 2d version of the movie looks kind of weird sometimes(like you can tell what was supposed to be in 3d) Im not sure how i feel, i didn't like the other silent hill movie(thought it was garbage). Hollywood has a tendency to take something great and fuck it up completely, look at countless video game movies. Also I heard avatar the last airbender was garbage. I never understood why it's so hard for these stupid directors to actually try to make the movie as much like the video game as possible instead of changing it into something lame.
That being said i could see them handling 3 better, the story isn't AS complex as 2(which i think would be a disaster if they made a movie of it) and heather acts the most realistically out of all the protagonist. I'm eager to see how they handle the otherworld's of 3(which i consider the most abstract disturbing otherworlds in silent hill period). If they do it right, i'll probably jizz from seeing it. Also I wonder how well they will capture heather, hopefully they won't overdo it. . .she better be hot though.
But most likely they will probably fuck it up just like hollywood does with countless other video game movies. Not being negative, just realistic.

Coraline...really? It was so blurry and made me sick. Avatar I can agree with.KiramidHead wrote:Three prime examples where 3D worked well: Beowulf, Coraline, and Avatar.

I saw it in 2D so I can't really say much, but I've heard Coraline's 3D, for most people, gave the movie extra depth. (Which is kind of a "duh" statement, but I hope you understand what I mean.)Amy wrote:Coraline...really? It was so blurry and made me sick. Coraline has 3D version? Didn't know this.
I'm looking forward to Revelations. I have no problem with 3D as long as they don't sacrifice the time for polishing script, mis-en-scene,and other aspects to the 3D production.

On Coraline, I didn't see it in theaters, but I heard the theatrical 3D was good. The DVD 3D, I experienced first hand. Fuck those stupid red and green glasses.

I'm actually hoping Revelation applies 3-D in a similar fashion to Coraline, it made the film feel.."layered" and didn't focus much on the old GRAHHH SOMETHING IS POPPING OUT OF THE SCREEN 3-D.jdnation wrote:I saw Coraline 3-D in theatres. Pretty fun! Loved the garden!

i heard Coraline 3D in theaters was good. i saw it in 3D at home, and didnt see what the fuss was about. still a good film though.
anyway, The Last Airbender was complete trash. it's probably the worst film i've seen in quite some time. i wasn't a big fan when i heard Shyamalan was to direct it, nor the casting once i heard who all was cast. i knew i wouldn't waste money to see it in theaters, but i decided to red box it for $1. First off, im a HUGE fan of the Nick series and supposedly, his children are as well. i figured with his kids being fans, this movie may just turn out to be OK, not terrible like i anticipated. having said that, after watching it i just wondered WTF was he thinking?
The cast is horrible, the effects/"bending" is atrocious, the action scenes are boring, and the acting was just awful. he managed to not only cast everyone wrong, but none of the actors actually portrayed their characters well. it was really, really, really hard to sit through the film.
anyway, i'll def check Sh2 out in 3d in the theaters, but if i end up buying the DVD, i'll opt for the 2d version. the first film was actually decent imo, it's just i didn't like certain changes. one being Rose (i would've preferred a Harry), another being the changes to Dahlia, and lastly, the minor changes to the cult.
