Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
START!
Well if the film is following the first, then Sean Bean.
Maybe Saoirse Ronan for Heather.

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
See, you make it sound like a game thread, but it's not a game thread (especially with the START). It would much better, and would avoid more suspicion, if you say "Silent Hill Revelation 3D Cast" or something like that.

If Heather is supposed to be a reincarnation of Alessa from the first movie, it would have to be someone who looks like Jodelle. If not, then I support simeonelo's choice of Ellen Page.

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
I assume is someone went to Silent Hill Movie and saw all the news about the new film, they would easily know this is about casting a film.simeonalo wrote:See, you make it sound like a game thread, but it's not a game thread (especially with the START). If I said 'Silent Hill Revelation 3D Cast', I'm sure more people would be confused and think the real cast was announced. So I think I'll stay with the title I chose. I doubt it confused anyone.
It wouldn't HAVE to be. Movies cast new actors for older versions of a character all the time. Some not to accurate looking. They will probably go for someone that looks like SH3 Heather, and not the little girl who played Sharron. Game accuracy, or look like the previous actress?JKristine35 wrote:If Heather is supposed to be a reincarnation of Alessa from the first movie, it would have to be someone who looks like Jodelle. I doubt there would be a Vincent in the movie, but if so...maybe...
Idk, can Ethan Hawk do a good "intellectual voice?"

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
Cillian Murphy, Vincent. If they decide to. I think many years ago people voiced the exact same opinion. Not so sure if they still have it.
If we're sticking by the original movie, I vote Jodelle Ferland to return. She's 16 now, almost Heather's age in Silent Hill 3, so it wouldn't be a stretch to have her play the main part. Or at least a bit part.
Edits galore: Ellen Paige is a pretty cool choice for Heather, I think, if they're retconning the first movie. She even looks like Heather a bit.

@Arsenic13, Just because they chose to be braindead and recast with bad choices in other movies doesn't mean it's okay.

You're going to have to explain that comment to me.

I think that'd be a great idea. In that picture there, he looks pretty fitting for it. Cillian Murphy can also come off as creepy at times, too, so yeah.Ethos wrote:

As for Saoirse Ronan as Heather, I think that'd work really well if only she were a bit older. But across the eyes and her nose, she does favor Heather just a bit.

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
Assuming SH: Revelations follows SH3's storyline (which I really don't want to see, but if that's how it goes, that's how it goes.)
Sharon/Heather/Alessa = Jodelle Ferland
Harry Mason = Pierce Brosnan
Vincent = David Hayter (was originally going to suggest Christopher Randolph, but Hayter looks closer to Vincent than Randolph does)
Claudia = Julianne Moore
Douglas Cartland = Donald Sutherland

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
I thinking Mickey Rourke would make a great Douglas, and maybe Brad Dourif as Vincent.
Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
I often find with making 'dream casts' people often pick actors/actresses who LOOK like the character rather than whose acting could lend something to them, so I'm going to try and refrain from thinking about the way the characters look. I do agree that Don Sutherland would be great as Douglas. Also Brad Dourif? WIN!!
I say have Gary Oldman as Harry, he's my favourite actor and can do anything, and does every role so different.
^ Sadly, she's probably too old to play a teenager now...
I would really love to see Sheryl Lee as Heather, after her amazing portrayal of the similarly tormented Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, but she's probably looking too old to play a teenager now since Twin Peaks was nearly 10 years ago... So instead, I'm going to say Scout Taylor-Compton. She proved she can be a great 'scream queen' in Rob Zombie's Halloween, but in the rather bizarre, Lynch-esque Halloween II she's a real show-stopper, portraying this tormented girl, trying desperately to hold onto her innocence as she discovers she's not who she thought she was all along. Even if you're one of the people who hated this or both of Rob Zombie's Halloweens, you can probably appreciate how damn good a job she did, I'd love to see her take on Silent Hill.
^ Ain't that funny! I hadn't seen this before, but when I did a Google image search for Jackie to put in here, up pops this image, where he appears to resemble Vincent anyway! Good stuff.
Vincent? How about Jackie Earle Haley? While a lot of people will have only seen him as Rorschach and Freddy Krueger, when he's not being a brutal monster he can also project a really cool 'evil... in a nice, friendly way' thing - even when he gives his interviews he has a very kindly, over-friendly quality to him but you know there's this evil horror icon inside there somewhere (not that Jackie is an evil person, just that you know he has a dark side which he can project into acting).
As for Douglas - the superficial side of me wants to say the guy who played Mathis in Casino Royale, but just because he looks so much like him. For acting... (Damn, why isn't Donald Pleasance still alive?) I think I'm gonna have to agree with Shadow and say Donald Southerland. His age coupled with some of his horror acting from the 70s, he could make Douglas into a really interesting and powerful character!
Can't think of anybody for Claudia...

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
^Um, which characters would they be playing? David Tennant could easily do either Harry Mason or Vincent. Natalie is a different story. She's 29. That photo you linked is years out of date (is it from the film Leon/The Professional by any chance?) Here's a current one:
So, who would you cast her as?

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
Do people even expect the movie to have a big enough budget to bring in these big actors?

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
^We had Sean Bean in the first one, and he's *pretty* big.
I thought there was a partial cast list somewhere, but I can't find it anymore.
We've just got to sit on our hands and wait...
for this AND 8 info.

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
Portman's going to be too busy doing the new Alien film.
Love Donald Sutherland as Douglas, though - never realized how much Douglas looked like him.

You do realise that we're not ACTUALLY picking the cast for the movie...?soam108 wrote:Do people even expect the movie to have a big enough budget to bring in these big actors?
Guys, why not pick people whose acting you think would suit the characters, rather than just who LOOKS like them?
I mean if we're gonna do lookalikes...
But his acting wouldn't be suited at all. I don't care if the characters in the movie look completely different, it's about what kind of character they bring.

Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
Cillian Murphy is definitely my ideal pick for Vincent.
Re: Let's cast Silent Hill Revelation
@DistantJ Ellen Page totally looks like Heather, can act as good as Heather's voice actor, and even sounds like Heather. I'd be so ecstatic if we could have her for the movie.
