Watch SH: Revelation with other forummers!

Post by JuriDawn »

As suggested in this thread, I think it'd be great to meet up with other Silent Hill fans to watch the film on opening night. Therefore, this thread can be the place to suggest a nearby theater (or see if another member has suggested one near you) and get an idea of how many fellow members might want to meet up.

So here's how it works:
I'm going to update this first post with the names and addresses of movie theaters that have been nominated by forum members as meet-up spots. Under each theater, I'll list the forum members who would like to attend a showing at that theater. If you see a theater near you on the list, make a post here saying that's where you'll go. If you don't see a theater near you, suggest one and I'll add it. Bear in mind, some theaters have banned face-covering masks and fake weapons, so you may wish to call your local theater to find out their cosplay policy in case someone wants to go as Pyramid Head or a nurse.

If you're posting from outside the US, I may need you to remind me of your country's release date for the movie, but you're absolutely welcome to use this thread.

If you're thinking about going in costume, feel free to let us know that as well. And take pictures. As I stated earlier, I demand them. :P

I nominate Malco Razorback Cinema:

3956 North Steele Blvd.

Fayetteville, AR 72703

I'm not sure if I'm going in costume or not. I might try and get a vest to kinda sorta go as Vincent.

I am from Saint Louis, Missouri in the Midwest Region of the United States. The best theater here in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area is Ronnie's 20 Cine and THIS is another link to the Fandango Wehrenberg Cinema (Ronnie's 20 Cinema).

I'm seeing it in Sterling Heights, MI. Near Detroit. Doubt anyone on this forum will be going to that exact AMC Forum 30, but hey, that's where I'll be.

I'm planning on going with my husband to a Cinemark theatre here in Colorado Springs, which also has an IMAX. I don't know if it will be shown in IMAX, but if so, we'll go to that.
Theatre info:
3305 Cinema Point Colorado Springs, CO 80922
(719) 596-2173

But if someone else has plans for another theatre in the Springs area, I may be up for that. I originally was thinking I'd go in my SH1/possessed Cybil costume, but I don't think I will, because the parasite on my back would mean I'd have to lean forward for the whole movie- and I'd have to buy new red contact lenses. Plus I'm lazy. I'll probably get out one of the Silent Hill shirts I made at the time of the first movie's showing, although since they're home made iron-ons they're a little worse for wear now...

Edit: Juridawn, if you're going as your avatar, I'd love it if you had a couple of people carry you in a position just like that! I can picture the awesomeness! :P And it'd probably make most people wonder what the hell is going on.

I nominate Morehead Cinemas 6 in Morehead, KY. :P Yeah, nobody wants to go to "Hicktown USA"...

ETA: I seriously doubt anyone would be relatively close to where I live to see it, but I am for sure going to the midnight premiere (if there is one) that night. :)

phantomess: That would be pretty awesome. I still haven't made up my mind whether or not to add some sort of cape/drape thingie, but I do have a simple dress that matches pretty well.

In Toronto, likely going to Cineplex Odeon Queensway. Don't know if I'll make it for opening night. Trying to organize schedules with some friends who are also fans, we all want to see it for the first time together.

@Aerith, I live 60-90 minutes from Morehead, although I'm pretty sure I'm going the night after the premiere night.

I'm actually unsure if I'm going to see SH:R in 3D or not.
I'll have to check & see which theaters have 3D.

On that topic, does anyone know how much more expensive 3D is than 2D? A rough, general estimate would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone in Fife, Scotland?

Edit The New Picture House in St Andrews is the easiest for me, but I can easily travel outside of Fife to the Cineworld or the Odeon in Dundee.

I'm not exactly sure if I will be seeing it that night but I will be if we have a midnight premiere here. We have 3-D at our theater here and that movie should be presented in it.

3-D movies are usually a few dollars more expensive. I think 2-D is usually $7.00 at our theater and 3-D is around $9-10.00.

I propose the AMC Theater in:

1 Garden State Plaza
Paramus, NJ 07652

I'll be there opening night if anyone wants to meet up.

I think it would be awsome to do this, but I am pretty sure i'm the only person in TN that is an active member here sadly. Especially near the Monroe County area. :?
