Bassett Hates Misconceptions

Silent Haven and a few other fans have misread Bassett's latest blog post, where he clearly addressed a new gig he was getting (not Revelation), which he described as a straight-up action movie, not horror. It was basically blown out of proportion, and Bassett certainly didn't seem happy with it.

Oh, and he also hates people asking him for a release date, a poster, and a trailer.

Revelation is already hated by SH fans for every possible thing imaginable. You should have seen what this board looked like when they first started shooting. I left for a couple of weeks because the whining was everywhere.

I have faith in the film, just as I have a small glimmer of faith for Downpour (Huge emphasis on 'small'). MJB just has to get over that not liking it and let it go through one ear and out the other. Consumers are interested, and he ought to enjoy that. I really want a trailer, dammit! I'm pumped for this movie. Be proud people are that curious in your film, dude!

Seems like there should be a month long course for anyone heading a Silent Hill project to take that deals with the madness of our fanbase.

I feel so bad for Bassett. He had NO IDEA what he was diving headfirst into when he signed up to direct SH:R. At least his part is over with, and now we can pester the producers for a trailer, a poster, a release date, a good movie, the pelt of the nimean lion, the head of medusa, and the rescue of the princess.
