Look like a new monster was revealed with heather on a staircase.
Silent Hill is like a living thing and the fans are it's blood.
Silent Hill will lose blood time to time but it won't die that easily.
It can still make new blood.

"Everyone has a different nightmare in Silent Hill"

ie

sequel set-up

Also, the effect on the voice reminds me of Session 9, which was referenced in Silent Hill 3 itself.

Not really a sequel set-up to me; more of a really quick explanation for how Silent Hill's power works, for the viewer.

"Everyone has a different nightmare in Silent Hill" - Proof that Basset gets it.

I freaking love Basset's films, he's gonna hit this one right out of the park for me.

^I'm with you. Deathwatch is practically a great Silent Hill movie all on its own.

If thats the one I saw, thats the 'brain' monster, but I get a Nemesis feel from it. That fucked up skin/head with the mouth thing. I'll tell you one thing, my biggest problem with the first movie was the lack of monsters. The armless man was greatly done but thats it aside from the burning children which were in only one scene! This deff looks to deliver

You didn't like the Grey Children, Creepers, or Nurses? The monsters were the only good thing about the movie.

I think he may mean they're wasn't enough variety and none got enough screen time. It's how I felt about the monsters in the first film anyway.

I was thinking it might be Valtiel, but then I remembered the statue is a pretty faithful adaptation of the game's design, so if Valtiel is in the movie he will probably have the feminine lips enclosed in a circular frame like he did in SH3.

Exactly, they were well done but there wasn't nearly enough time with them. It felt more like they were just there for a split second just to say "here, see, theres monsters"

That was cool, but something about the environment seems off. So does the Otherworld transition. That whole scene seemed dreaml-like though. I liked that.

Interesting. So the Order wants to destroy Alessa instead of using her? So when Basset said rival cult he meant it. But then again, the first movie's cult were in fear of Alessa, so wouldn't they want Alessa destroyed? So how is that rivalry? Is there going to be no Alessa as a revered person or deity or means to an end? Hm.

I'm sure they're opposites in basic ideology, maybe structure. "Direct" opposites, like black vs. white? Probably not. That would be lame.
