Re: Italian poster
I actually like this poster much, much better than the Pyramid Head one with the ZOMBIE HANDZ!!
I in fact like it better than each of the other three I've seen.

Tiny thing: I really like the way they did Heather's mouth. The light is reflecting off her lips in all the right places.
I originally thought that maybe this was expected of horror movie posters in Italy, but I guess it's just how they advert. all movies there?

You have no idea what are you talking about.Silent_Storm wrote:This is quite normal for foreign movie posters.
Poland, Czech Republic and Russia also commonly have movie posters which do not seem to match the movie at all however it is foreigners that complain and when they see USA movie posters they find them weird to look at too.
Here are some Polish Movie Posters for you to look at and try and guess the original movie

These are not official theatrical posters! Almost all of the artworks are made by various artists - it's just an art form.
For istance, just look at OFFICIAL polish posters for Silent Hill and Saving Private Ryan.
Yep, there is absolutely no way to guess the movie
Europen posters are usually quite similiar to original ones, and I don't know what made you think differently. Besides, the worldwide distributor (Lionsgate in that case) still has the final word.
Forgive me, but I’ve never heard enything more ridiculous.it is foreigners that complain and when they see USA movie posters they find them weird to look at too.

Re: Italian poster
I really love the poster. It reminds me of some of my other favorite movie posters:

Re: Italian poster
One simple Google search may save my argument.
https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s ... 87&bih=889
Edit: my point is each country has it's own style of movie posters that they follow and are use to. The Polish cinema is the best example that is why I refer to it. Polish movies that are translated to English however would never use such weird movie posters for any other audience which is why they change it.
This is why Silent Hill has a different movie poster for each country though as it has a limited release the only weird one to laugh at currently is the Italian one.

This doesn't prove anything actually. But if you know my own country better...

Re: Italian poster
Yeah those Images don't look official to me.
I remember during my Second year at college doing both Art & Design and Graphic Design, that I studied these artistic style posters for movies and books etc.
None of which were official, and nothing lead me to believe they were official due to the fact the were way too 'Out there' to even be considered Official.
I could be wrong though.

Silent_Storm, I recommend you read this:

Some of the posters you linked are just tribute to those from the '50, but it doesn't mean you can find them in theaters We are not THAT retarded

Re: Italian poster
Hmmm. . .I am on the fence with this poster. I find it visually intriguing with a touch of Anime to it. But that is also what is troubling because it takes away from the "scariness" that is suppose to be Silent Hill! So there in lies the problem. . .
