Found this online. It's the official artwork for the US Blu-Ray

Well, at least it's consistent. And an improvement over the original movie's DVD artwork.

Y'know, for what that's worth.

The irony of mirroring the first movie's cover art when the sequel itself so directly contradicts it on so many levels is delicious.
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

It must just be their way of saying "It really is a sequel, honest!"

Tbh I rather like it. I hated the UK cover for SH1, tbh the US one wasn't much better.

I think it's a lazy copy of the first film's artwork, which was packed with symbolism, while this is just there for a creep / everyone look at the sequel! effect. That said, it's still better than all of the other posters, the only exception being the one with Pyramid Head behind Heather.

What if they turned the image upside-down? :)

I really don't like it at all, but I'm actually a bit impressed they managed to hold back on shoving Pyramid Head and a bunch of cleavage nurses on the front of the cover this time.

... they must all be on the back.

"An action-packed, super-gory, nail-biter of a horror movie!"

That's the best part, really... And yet, the saddest thing about is that it is actually the only truth.

I really like it! It's a callback to the original film, and seeing as this movie (whether or not people thought it succeeded) is supposed to be a successor to the first's plot, I think it suits it.

You could say that about any reviewer save perhaps Roger Ebert, man.

I've seen worse. The Total Recall remake's cover has a quote they found somewhere on MySpace.

Books do that too. Sometimes the blurb on the back is plucked from a negative review.

I thought the first poster was ineffective as it suggested the 50th knock off of The Ring.

Well at least they took the K.I.S.S. approach with this one. I do appreciate the consitency with the first movie's cover, even if it still is a little cheesy.
Bitch, don't kill my vibe.

Will the 3-D blu-ray set have a different or lenticular cover? I'd guess they'd probably go with the Pyramid head poster one for that.

Not that I'm buying it, sadly I didn't like the film.

I could've sworn you were defending this movie till the death a month or so back. I guess I may be thinking of someone else. lol

I don't care much for this cover art though. Don't really have any thoughts as to why I don't.

I think I saw it going around having the Pyramid Head/Heather poster.

Well I was one of it's most optimistic supporters prior to release. :P

If you want to know my thoughts, I did a review here:

I think the 3D cover artwork is still in the making; and they're just using the poster artwork as a place-in until the official artwork is released; I believe they did that with Prometheus. Prometheus 2D showed an Engineer while the 3D showed an important set piece; the star map. If SH:R follows this format, then I predict that the 3D cover will feature the carousel (probably on fire like in the film).

You know what would be really cool for the 3D artwork? If there's a lenticular like they do for the Resident Evil movies only it'll go from Dark Alessa to Memory of Alessa allowing the owner to see the transition the two make with each other.
