What's your favourite line in the movie?
I'll make a start - "F**k Facebook".
Said by Heather when she's in the bus with Vincent.

Y'know, with this topic, I think I'll get everything valuable out of the movie without actually having to watch it.
Winning.

Heather's speech in class was pretty awesome.

I can hardly remember any lines that were not part of simple exposition..
I guess Heather's speech in class was ok though.

I thought he said "gang sign". Regardless, I refuse to subject myself to this film again to confirm.Patman wrote:"Does that look like a gamertag to you ?"
"I thought everyone knew not to build on ancient Indian burial grounds." My favorite line because it makes no sense for Vincent to say it.

He says gang sign. I am also not sure why Bassett felt the need to throw in an indian burial ground..SilentRobert23 wrote:I thought he said "gang sign". Regardless, I refuse to subject myself to this film again to confirm.Patman wrote:"Does that look like a gamertag to you ?"

The movie is not the game. That little plot point was basically a throw away line and was unnecessary for the story, as quite a few things were.

The movie isn't the game, and that's why fans bitched. Bassett putting that line in there was an attempt to bring it a little closer to the games and also to allow for an expansion of the series from being just about Alessa ruining Silent Hill to Silent Hill having taken Alessa's influence, conflating it with the burial ground magic, and causing it to become a dark place to pull people in.Silent Fantasy wrote:The movie is not the game. That line was Vincent joking around, I think, even if it fell flat.

I agree. Problem I have with it is that, as far as we know, Vincent wouldn't have been exposed to that trope.Yuki wrote:That line was Vincent joking around, I think, even if it fell flat.

He lived in the Otherworld, under the watchful eyes of a cult. It just struck me as bizarre that he would be aware of it.
Re: What's your favourite line in the movie?
Maybe he did some really extensive research before leaving Silent Hill....and I mean he was digging deep to find that little tidbit.....and Leonard and Vincent spent some man time learning about cars....They did have cars before they were trapped in Silent Hill....

Pretty much anything Malcolm McDowell says in this movie is pure win. The guy doesn't just deliver his lines, he chews them up and spits them out.
